    Hi,

Fairness is subjective, so proving it would be difficult..

    For the purposes of closing this discussion, the quote in full (emphasis added);

"Thanks for your input, obviously we disagree about certain things and there's not much to be gained by continually going back and forth about all this.

I happen to think we are the fairest online mobile phone retailer you'll find and there's abundant evidence of this just in this thread, but you're of course welcome to your opinions."

Now that's not fair, Ben. You are spoiling this thread by introducing facts not prejudice into this exchange. Shame on you !
  • Hi,

Vodafone approval for the Hero (product testing, range planning etc) was only finalised yesterday, unfortunately we released the product onto our website early and this caused us and our customers problems.

I'm sorry that we didn't update you earlier, this has been an exceptional problem and it did cause some issues with how our Order Processing staff handled these orders.

Hopefully your handset has now been despatched? If you'd like to PM me your order number I'll make sure a car charger is sent to you as an apology for the delays.

Thanks for your patience, and apologies. Enjoy your new phone.

    Regards,

Wow, TBH l didn't think l would get a response from Mobiles.co.uk. ;)l will take you up on the offer on the free car charger, PM sent with my order number.
Also the Mobiles.co.uk dispatch e-mail didn't mention anything about the my number porting, and l was also called by Vodafone today and they didn't know anything about my number porting request. Can you clarify the situation for me please.

    Thanks and kind regards.

    Hi Silk,

Our returns department is currently under-staffed through a combination of illness, recent staff departures, training courses and holiday; I agree entirely that you have not had a good experience and I'm speaking to the Operations Manager to investigate what happened and come up with actions to stop it happening again.

Either myself or the Operations Manager will be emailing you with a fuller explanation, a detailed apology and we shall also of course be considering how we can make it up to you.

    Regards,
Out of interest if fully staffed how many work in the "returns department" ????
And of course I'm reminding you I have not yet heard from the Ops Mgr ;)
It's not just about the money
  • Haven't had a reply from Mobiles.co.uk yet. So wanted to check if any others have had any experience doing a number port to Vodafone on Mobiles.co.uk? if so, how long after you received your phone did your numbers port, or did you have to call up Vodafone to arrange the porting yourself?

Working in complaints I'll give you some advice:

Never get into an argument with a customer. Or in fact anything that could eve be construed as one. How unprofessional!!

    Hi 888,
Have you had a reply yet ?
    I'm still waiting too.
Can't speak for Voda or mobiles.co but the last O2 porting was done within 18 hours ....when the new number was activated we rang with the pak number and it was changed about 18 hours later and the old sim stopped

  • EEK.. I got my Hero (vodafone) from Mobiles.co.uk on 7th Aug and it's all set up now - I love it & they're not having it back - though I haven't had any requests to send it back. I didn't port a number.

I paid £169 for the phone & have 100mins & 500texts plus internet for £15 - more than enough for me.

    Hi Silk,

Nope still waiting for the rep to respond to my PM about the goodwill gift and number porting. l have also sent a mail to the main mobiles.co.uk order processing as well asking for confirmation, but that was only sent last night, so should expect some sort of reply today.
