Just received my specs---not bad quality but I can't SEE with them!!!!And I had emailed my prescription, the same one I used to get glasses from our local optician--if HE can make up glasses correctly from it WHY can't Selectspecs???? (Order number 265533--Savannah Glasses for watching TV--not reading glasses-) not happy as these are obviously NOT made up to my prescription !!!

    Frustrated.

No offence but your posts written in capitals are regarded as shouting and quite unreadable, hence I did not read fully or respond. But to clarify, you selected standard shipping, this is £5.95, Insured shipping is a little more but has tracking, this option was available to you at checkout. Tickets are closed when the matter has been dealt with, you're welcome to re-open them if you feel there is a problem that needs resolving.

    Kind regards,

  • Hello Everyone

I ordered some prescription sunglasses from this web site on 13th May. They took the money immediately, but then sent me an email the next day to say they were out of stock on that particular model. I asked for a refund and they promised they would do this, in full, within 3-5 working days. I've just checked my bank account and they still haven't refunded me the money, 8 days later!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Best wishes

    Milly

P.S. IMHO They shouldn't take your money if they don't have the stock, many other online stores simply stop you from paying if they are out of stock!

They are a tease and if you have a problem screw you. My issue is I thought I sent my RX. My daughter helped me and scaned my rx and emailed me and I thought I attached. They say they didnt get yet made my rx eyeware???? Guess is is ok anywhere? Really? I cant walk up to a counter and ask for an antibiotic so many mgs with out and rx. Laws say the same thing for eyeware becaue without a dr. who knows what they need? So if you dont have a rx and dont care buy here. Good luck seeing. Mean while the countries that care .... dont buy here. I wish someone gave me a heads up... :=)

I was reading this thread to decide whether to order from Selectspecs, but reading it almost makes me feel a bit sorry for the rep... Sure, there seems to be quite a few issues with deliveries and other errors, but when you buy glasses for about half the cost of what you'd pay instore, perhaps you can't expect the same level of service and need to be a bit patient while issues are being resolved...
Still undecided as to whether to place an order, but seriously - it must do your head in having to deal with people like frustrated - disabled or not!
I don't think I can hang on til Friday...

I've ordered a few pairs of prescription glasses from Selectspecs over the years and never had a problem, for what it's worth. I switched to them because my prescription was getting too high or too complicated or something for my previous online retailer. I can reliably get glasses from Selectspecs for £40 (including delivery) that would set me back hundreds of pounds at a high-street optician.
  • I have recently purchased a pair of specs from Selectspecs and I realised that it was a big mistake. The delivery took nearly two weeks (which I can understand) and when I finally got my specs, I was so disappointed because it came with the lenses in wrong places (the lenses are on the wrong sides).

When I requested for a refund, they asked me to return the item with my prescription so they can check it again. But they said the prescription I provided is correct and the specs were made properly and that they can only refund for the frame, when the main reason of return and refund is because of the LENSES.

I was so upset that all communication had to be via email because they don't even have a customer service line and even after 7-8 emails, they still won't refund for the lenses. Because of this, I am still wearing my old specs and do not want to buy anything online now.

I am very disappointed with Selectspecs and I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

Hi, it sounds like you may have entered the wrong values for each eye but without a valid order number I cannot check for you. Can you provide this please?

    Thanks

Hi, no need to feel sorry for us, we get hundreds of orders per day with very few complaints that cannot be resolved. Most issues do tend to be because the customer has entered the incorrect details, this is why we allow customers to attach prescriptions and also give give plenty of warnings for customers to check that the prescription is correct before submitting order.

Delivery is less of an issue these days, we do find the USPS in the USA to be rather slow of late however but generally for 99% of customers there are no problems.

    Kind regards,
