Glasses....anyone buy from Selectspecs or eyewearcentre?

  • After spending a significant amount of time shopping for the correct frame on SelectSpecs and choosing the one I want, I emailed them to ask a question, almost a full week ago.

    I received the following response:
    A request for support has been created and assigned ticket #52477. A SelectSpecs representative will follow-up with you as soon as possible

    My query was one week ago. I have not been contacted since.

    I have just placed an order with glassesdirect.co.uk who have designer frames 2 for 1 and until tomorrow you get an extra 40% off cost of frames.

    Oh, and Glassesdirect have a team in the UK who you can actually speak to (yes, speak to!)

    Too bad SelectSpecs, improve your customer service! You have too much good competition to be this complacent.

    Did you check your inbox or spam/junk folders? Our records show we replied to your ticket on "Tue, Jan 22 2013 1:34pm". If you have an account with us you can also check your tickets through that.

    We're totally based in the UK like GD, but we feel our prices are more competitve without negotiating the DFS style baffling offers (sorry GD :D ). To offer a phone service we will have to increase our prices substantially - we do however offer a high street store with friendly staff in Westgate on Sea, Kent if you're ever in the area.

    do not use selectspecs, they refuse to provide a refund under the distance selling regs, despite their website saying any purchase of new specs are covered. They have no phone customer support, so you get little response other than a standard written one, no matter what you put in your writen requests. I have used selectspecs previously and had fairly poor service from them. Only reason I went to them again was v cheap pair of specs. Never again.........

  • I've bought from Selectspecs before without any problems. However Last October I bought a pair of specs, scanned the script in, but when they were delivered, they weren't correct, I couldn't see out of them. I emails SelectSpecs for confirmation that they have glazed the specs to the prescription - no answer. I eventually took the specs to SpecSavers for them to check them against the script. SelectSpecs had glazed the left lens as +0.75 INSTEAD of -0.75. I have emailed them four times, and have not had any reply.

    Are they going out of business??? What is wrong with them?? :mad:

    Can you give me an order number so I can look in to this for you? If we have received an email from you then it is likely that we have emailed you back, all messages should be in your account under your tickets. Emails may also be in your spam/junk folder, so it's worth checking there.
