Glasses....anyone buy from Selectspecs or eyewearcentre?

You're lucky. Three months, plenty of faffing about and nada for me.

Woe betide you if you have a problem and request a refund (blood from a stone) or are offered a replacement (see "faffing about" above).

You have managed to send me the wrong pair of glasses. I have been trying to get in contact with your website, but you have no number, and your Email system is very complicated to figure out.

I have sent you a message on your website but i have had no reply. As i see it you have sent me someone else's glasses.

Can you send me the correct glasses and get someone to pick up the wrong glasses.

Im finding its impossible to get in contact with your company

Our delivery has improved greatly over the past months, most items from HK are delivered within 1-2 weeks now. Designers can vary depending on if we have the item in stock or the supplier has availability but again most items are delivered within 2 weeks.

I have seen a lot of negative comments on here about SS so feel I should share my experience. I have placed four orders with SS for glasses, the first of which was in response to the recommendation on this site, and have been very impressed with the service and quality. All my orders arrived within 2 weeks. One pair I received didn't feel comfortable, I contacted SS and they replaced them promptly and without question.

I can therefore say I'm a very satisfied customer and will continue to use SelectSpecs in the future, in fact I have just ordered my next pair!

After reading this thread I thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt.
I messaged to check if the glasses I wanted were available, the reply said it was, they took my money, then replied to say they didn't actually have them.

I asked for money back and it took them a full 24 hours to reply to say I would receive in 5-7 working days, and no chance of a telephone conversation I requested.

Make your own conclusions! I will wait for my refund when it arrives.

Selectspecs glasses are sent from Hong Kong.
They take around a month to arrive, if you are lucky.

I used to buy from them because they were cheap, but recent experiences with them has made me vow never to use them again.

Last year I ordered a pair of prescription sunglasses at the start of April. They did not arrive. After filling in their claim forms (twice, since they claimed not to have received the first ones) we finally received the glasses at the end of July, nearly three months later!

I gave them another chance, and ordered a pair of glasses on the 2nd June this year.
Despite their website stating that they were available, I was told they were not, and to select another frame.
I did so, despite the annoyance of having to go through it all again.
I then received a message on the 28th June, a full 26 days later, that the frames I had chosen were not suitable for my prescription.

As you can imagine that was the last straw, and I told them to cancel the order, and refund me, on the 30th June.

On the 4th July they replied that the refund would take 5-7 working days!
I still haven't received it, so could end up waiting for the refund till the 13th July, a full 41 days after placing the order.

I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole in future.

Just re-read my message - the sunglasses (2 pairs) actually took nearly four months to arrive, not three!
And my latest order was nearly £200, so it doesn't matter to SelectSpecs how much your order is worth - they will still treat you like crap!

Hmmm.

I ordered from SS recently, and I received the glasses pretty quickly (between 10 and 20 days for both pairs).

Unfortunately it seems that the HK lab have cocked up the order... both pairs nearly 4mm out on PD ... headaches the result.

Time to check out their after-sales service

Ordered from selectspecs on the 1st of July, order tracking said order complete on the 5th, despatched on the 6th from Hong Kong, arived first post on the 9th. It would've taken longer from Tescos. Good glasses, no problems with them at ll, very efficient and quick service. Will use again.
