  • How long do these cashback offers normally last on Quidco? I'll be moving into my student house at the end of September and would rather wait till then to order broadband... Is the offer likely to be on in a month's time?

    Thanks

Having compared the cost to other suppliers, I am convinced I cannot get a better deal anywhere else. All I pay is £21.03 for 20mb unlimited download broadband, , about 20 free cable channels, telephone line rental, unlimited calls to all landlines at anytime, discounted calls to mobiles and international numbers, catchup tv (including bbc iplayer, 4 on demand), email, virus checker, free modem, wireless router and lots more!

How on earth did you get all that! Did you have to hassle/negotiate them on the phone, or did you get it from some temporary deal they advertised? I ask because my 12 month introductory period has just ended (Phone line and 2MB BB for £16p.m.), and now it's up to £22 for both. At the moment I have to pay for calls in the evening and national calls (which have easily added loads to the bill in the past), and while there's a free upgrade to 10MB BB, I'd rather have your deal! Wonder if I should give them a call?

I just had Virgin installed yesterday when they were giving £65 cashback.

Can I cancel and sign up again. Seems too good an opportunity to miss out on a further £85

Well I cancelled that day and signed up again.

    Not tracked as yet!!!

    To get this figure:
    Line Rental 10 August - 09 September £11.00
    Talk International 10 August - 09 September £1.50
    Talk Mobile 10 August - 09 September £1.50
    Talk Unlimited 10 August - 09 September £7.95
    Loyalty Pack: B B / Phone 10 August - 09 September £-19.46
    Fully Itemised Billing 10 August - 09 September £0.00
    TV Size: M 10 August - 09 September £0.00
    Broadband Size: M 10 August - 09 September £20.00
    Online billing discount -£1.00
    VAT adjustment -£0.46

    Total £21.03

To get the £19.46 loyalty discount, you need to take the broadband, phone, talk mobile, talk unlimited and talk international options. I have to pay extra for calls to 084..., 087.. numbers and calls to mobiles and international countries are discounted. Any additional TV channels also cost more. My broadband has also been upgraded to 20mb for free.

Give them a call on 150 and talk to the department that deals with disconnections. Tell them you are out of your contract, and you are not happy with how much you are paying. Ask them about the loyalty pack, and threathen to leave them if they do not make you a good offer.

    Good luck!

I tried to purchase Virgin Broadband yesterday, hoping to get this cashback deal, however towards the end of placing the order I was asked for my address/telephone number, I have no landline so simply provided postcode and confirmed address, at this point I was prompted to phone Virgin in order to complete my order.

Anyone have any idea why I can’t complete the order online? Surely if I complete the order on the phone I will get no cashback...
  • I notice that Martin is reporting that TopCashBack have reduced their money-back offer from £150 to £130. What he hasn't mentioned is that it appears as if another cashback company applied pressure on Virgin to force this to happen.

Interestingly, I applied for Virgin installation through TopCashBack when they had the £150 order on and have since discovered that Virgin now state that they have no record of my order. I must just say that all 3 people I dealt with at Virgin were polite and helpful.

Did anyone else apply for a Virgin deal through TopCashBack, whilst they had their £150 offer on, and can they check that the order is still going through?

I'd like to think this is coincidence rather than conspiracy, my implication being that if the cashback company persuaded Virgin to force TopCashBack to drop their saving, could they also have got them to drop orders taken under that saving?

PS: I have no experience of using any other cashback company, but I would say that TopCashBack have been pretty good.

You must have been unlucky with Virgin.

I have had Virgin broadband for years, and I have not had any difficulties with speed or reliability. If my Internet has hung occasionally, rebooting either the computer or the router does the trick. The old NTL customer service used to be appalling but the new Virgin Media customer service is so much better.

Unfortunately, I do not qualify for the cashback as I am already a Virgin customer. I don't think it is worth the hassle of leaving Virgin to join it again, and the cashback is not guaranteed. I will stick to my £21 a month Virgin deal.:rotfl:
Rebooting everthing does not work in our case, suspect is is to do with the way Virgin prioritise traffic and as before, this may just be a local problem. Customer service still not responding to problem so it looks I'll be buying a wireless dongle which I can use anywhere for less than I pay Virgin. woohoo!

Can you still get the cashback if you can't complete the transaction online?

i.e. when put postcode in get directed to phone number as am in analogue rather than digital cable area. It's still cable (as per Quidco site) but how will Quidco know you've completed to pay you?

You wont get paid, requirements are "genuine tracked transactions completed wholly online"
