  • Awww - big hugs to you honey - get good night's sleep and try not to fret about the things you can't change. I know it's hard - nice cup of tea and maybe talk to your sister for support - will keep my fingers crossed for you that that cheque arrives soon!

  • Well update on inheritance. The Lawyers now have the money from the sale of the shares but the money they've received is £60 short so they are waiting for this before they send the money out. They were the ones that made the mistakes so you would think that they would pay out the money and then chase up the £60 but no they are waiting till they get that before they send it out

Im not going to let it bother me cause i can't do anything about it. It just means that in the future if i ever need to see a lawyer i know who not to go see !!!!

I've not had a very good week its been my first week back at work after my holiday and i've still got a bit of my cold left so am constantly tired. I was looking forward to having Sunday off, however, have been told that this is my Sunday to work and run the shop so i won't have a day off now until a week on Sunday. Problem is the shop work their wages from a Sunday to a Saturday so im going to get too much tax and national insurance off me to make it really worth my while working that amount of hours! I asked for the following Saturday off only to be told that i wont be getting any Saturdays off as its the run up to christmas. So im going to loose out working extra hours  I tried to explain that too my boss but he wasn't interested.

Anyway i'll need to wait and see what my wage slip says when i get paid after i've worked the extra hours.

I've managed to pay another £18.50 towards my MBNA credit card

So target for October is £325.00 total saved so far is £98.53 so £226.47 to go

Due to the extra hours i've not managed to get anything listed on ebay cause i've been so tired.

Will try to get some things listed once i finish work tonight

    Will update again later

It's probably sitting in their high interest account for a few days - ask them if there will be any interest accruing, and due to you, because of the delay.

    Just a quick update

My grampa's money came through yesterday :j so the cheque's been banked and i've cleared my overdraft and paid off my Sky card (well the cheque's been written and will be paid tomorrow!)

So current debt outstanding is as follows:

    DEBTS OUTSTANDING:

    BARCLAYCARD £5270.00 now £5180.00
    MBNA £4042.64 now £4642.04
    MORGAN STANLEY £2180.00 now £2150.00
ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND MASTERCARD £9728.00 now £9616.00
    SKYCARD £922.88 22.08.06 £1064.48 now nil (paid off) :j
    TESCO £2340.00 now £2333.97
OVERDRAFT £1499.80 O/D now nil (paid off) :j

    TOTAL DEBT @ 14.08.06 £25983.32 now @ 17.09.06 £25019.72 now @ 4.10.06 £23922.01

TOTAL PAID OFF TO DATE £2061.31

After the really long wait for the money i was really pleased when it came but since i got the cheque i cant stop crying. I just feel like i've wasted all the money cause i've got nothing to show for it and i feel like i've let my grampa down. Im sure he didn't think that id be spending his money on paying it towards my debt.

I still have about £300 left but my car needs a service, i need to get my boiler looked at and my house insurance is due so i'll probably have to go into my overdraft again but am going to reduce it once my wages go into the bank next week.

I've had to use my MBNA card to get some things so that has increased the balance so am starting my MBNA £325 a month challenge again and im going to put the money in another account instead of paying it directly to the card (so i don't use it again) and then make one big lump sum payment. So MBNA October target £325 to go......

Maybe soon i'll start feeling a bit better about things but at the moment even the littlest things are getting me down

Aaaw - big hug to you honey - you have done well and I think your grandad would be happy that you have reduced debt as it will reduce your stress and help you get your life on track.

Why not remove those 2 items from your sig/list now to 'de-clutter' the debt list? You will feel better and still have the 'total paid off' part to remind you of how much you have knocked off the debt.

    Hi there

I think its about time i made a confession... im so very embarrassed and feel terrible about what i've been doing! Its time to admit i have a gambling problem. I used to gamble all the time but recently haven't been all that bothered by it but everytime i get a bit bored i always find myself logging onto an online casino and a few hundred pounds later im still bored and feel terrible at having spent all that money.

I have went onto the casino for the last time tonight. I have uninstalled all the software from my pc and have cut up my card and changed my password. I don't want to go ahead and close my account yet as im waiting for a payment to come out of my account. It's due to be paid any day now and then the account will be closed for good.

Please don't have a go at me i don't think i could take it. Its taken me over an hour to sit and type this cause part of me doesn't want anyone else to know, however, another part of me feels like i've been lying to you all by not telling you. Anyway i've told you now so feel free to tell me how stupid i am ( i know cause i cant feel any worse than i do already )

Tomorrow is going to be the start of my new casino free life and the beginning of the long road to turn my life around and pay off the debt that has escalated from wasting my money on nothing but heartache.

    DEBTS OUTSTANDING:

    BARCLAYCARD £5270.00 now £5180.00
    MBNA £4042.64 now £4979.94
    MORGAN STANLEY £2180.00 now £2150.00
ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND MASTERCARD £9728.00 now £9616.00
    TESCO £2340.00 now £2333.97

    TOTAL DEBT @ 14.08.06 £25983.32 now @ 17.09.06 £25019.72 now @ 4.10.06 £23922.01 now @ 6.10.06 £24259.91

TOTAL PAID OFF TO DATE £1723.41

Well, I say fair play for admitting it, it takes a lot of guts to admit something like that - and sounds like you've done the right things about it. But make absolutely sure you close that account properly when you receive the payment! No relapses! And I'd find another hobby if I were you! ;)

Good luck with the debt reduction - reading your sig, you seem to be making great progress. *thumbs up*

Don't be too hard on yourself hun. You've 'fessed up now and taken action to stop it happening again, that's the important thing.

Promise me one thing - if you get the urge to go on again get on here quick and let us talk you out of it.

You've made geat progress the last few months - you'll make even more now!!! xxx
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

    Hey buddiebabe

I can only imagine how much guts it took for you to type your 'confession'. Well done sweetie. You have an addiction and you have taken the first steps to deal with it by admitting you have a problem. I know you may feel you are the only erson going through this right now, but the fact is that many others are in the same situation as you. Quite a few posters on here in fact are dealing with gambling and othere addictions.

You can turn your life around and hope today, you feel like it's a new beginning as you said. We are all here to support you and lend a hand on those days that are harder than others - as well as cheer with you as things get easier!

    Thinking of you x
