Vodafone have also launched a Recycle/ Buyback scheme for all of their contract customers.

As with the other mobile phone trade in schemes covered here they pay true value for what customers old mobile phones are worth.

The great thing about this scheme is that you can call them direct for free on 54321 from any Vodafone mobile, and get a free returns bag sent direct to your house, and then get the money paid direct onto your mobile phone bill as a credit.

They also offer the service to all customers upgrading via their call centre.

Hmmmmmmmmm - not much discussion going on here so let me kick it off. :footie:

The only thing I would add to the original article is to get in quick and register with your chosen trade-in company as soon as you've decided you want to trade in your phone.

In particular, Envirofone appear to have been slashing the values of some models quite dramatically, and could (and no doubt will to some extent) do so again in the future. They do however appear to honour any price they have already agreed with you, so don't hang about and make sure you register with them and confirm the deal ASAP to make sure you don't lose out by any future fall in prices.;)

Just in case you missed it in the "Recycle Your Old Mobile..." article, this is the link to the ongoing thread which originally inspired said article:

Skywalters, how do you know the value of the phone before sending it off?

Also, has any ever heard back from Mobilephonebuyer?

There were a couple of posts in November about long contact times but nothing since - any clues to actual repsonse times? If they don't respond, Martin needs to remove them from the article.

I sold a Sony Ericsson T610 to mopay a few months back. It was in very good condition. They asked me to grade it. I chose grade 'b' (good condition). I got a pack from them after a few days and sent my phone off. After 4 weeks I got a cheque for a grade c one!! Not good.

Recently I sold my old Nokia 6230i to mazuma mobile and got £44.00! I done alot of shopping around this time and they seem to pay more on almost every model and promised payment within 7 days. They didn't require me to grade my phone. They just require it to work and have a battery. They even let you keep your memory card. Bonus!

I got welcome pack the next day and used their freepost bag to send my phone off. I recieved full payment in 3 days!

Have told all my friends and they too got same service.

    Definately worth trying https://www.mazumamobile.com

    Has anyone here used them?

Hey - I was just sharing my experience. Thought that was the whole idea of a forum.

    You compare prices for yourself.

Fair enough - I was just airing my suspicions. I'm not saying the site's no good, but I'd never heard of it before and it doesn't feature in Matin's article.

The fact is that people often register on this (and other) forums posing as happy customers just to promote a product or service in which they have a vested interest. If this is not the case in your instance, then I take back what I said, although you'll notice that I was careful not to ACCUSE you of spamming, and that my thinking was just an OPINION.

    Fair enough.

Wasn't my intention to sound like I was selling their site. It's just that their prices and payment times are pretty good compared to the other companies mentioned in the money saving expert review.

I was pretty suprised not to see them mentioned here. They must be fairly new.

Well if their claims hold true, they should be pretty reputable:

Mazuma Mobile is part of the Ventura Telecom Group. We've spent many years finding new homes for unwanted, rejected, mobile phones - some broken and second-hand, some new that sadly became unfashionable before even reaching the shops (life can be so cruel…).
We re-home, on average, 40,000 mobiles per month - we're one of the leading mobile phone REUSE specialists in Europe.
We have strong working relationships with many well-known Networks, Manufacturers, Repair Centres and Retailers. So we're well placed to take good care of your old phones.
You'll see that, for us, two things are extremely important: Quality Service (for you) and Mother Nature (for everyone). That's why we are accredited to the following standards:

My Nokia 6110 is apparently worth the grand total of one quid! Don't think I can even be bothered to walk to the postbox for that.
