Hi Sarah!
Glad to hear OH doing ok at work. Looks like we're both going in the right direction again. It must make a big difference when you get paid more in a month.
Enjoy your week off and good luck with the potty training2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0 -
Well, mixed bag with the potty training so far, some success (he's sitting in the potty) and some failure (he's not actually using it!). DS is at nursery tomorrow, so that should make it a bit easier as they troupe them off to the loo every half hour or so. OH says he's not ready yet, but I said I'd give it till the middle of next week before I decide if I need to stop.
Money wise I have started to look at the budgets for next month, and provided there is no c0ck up with OH's, it shouldn't be too bad. Will come out of this month with about £200 on the Sainsburys card, but thats way less than I was expecting, so thats good. Monthly saves are back on from next paysome of it will be going straight off the Sainsburys card because I had to buy DS some clothes, but otherwise yay!
Have just ordered some Xmas prezzies onlineso now have most of the females sorted, just the men to go (and they are the easy ones), but as just pointed out to me, Boots have some sales stuff at the minute, so I might go looking tomorrow to see what I can see
And best of all, as I am saving for Christmas each month, I'm not counting it as spends

I find it difficult to buy for men- any ideas you can share about good gifts for them?!2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0

.... something comes along and gives you a kick in the balls!!
OH has come home from work this morning, to say that he was told this morning that he is being moved to a store in Swindon:mad::mad: I am furious, as they know he doesn't drive, and he's been off sick with stress for the last 10 weeks, and now they throw this on him!!!
What makes it worse is that he isn't currently driving (expired ban, but not re-applied for licence yet) so he'll have to get the train then the bus, which will be added expense... we're effecively taking a £3k pay cut
And they're allowed to do it because as managers, we're employed by the region, not an individual store!

Aw that sucks! That's not gonna help stress levels - any chance of him pleading his case, maybe even getting a doctor's letter to back him up - I did this once for work (for a completely different issue though) and it was taken quite seriously by my managers so might that be a thought?
I know what you mean about shopping for Christmas prezzies "not counting" - it's almost like a little bit of fun spending without the guilt when you have budgeted and have the money there to use!Dealing with my debts!Currently overpaying Virgin cc -balance Jan 2010 @ 1985.65Now @ 703.63

Thank Jo, I didn't think of that... I'll mention it to OH

Well, what can I say....since all the thread moves I have found myself reading far more diaries, popped into yours and thought that maybe I was living in a parallel universe and was posting under the ID of SarahNeedle in the other one! Haven't read your diary yet, am going to now even though I'm meant to be doing housework  but just wanted to comment on your first post, I've quoted things that you've said that are exactly the same as my life at the moment, editing in red the bits that makes it relevent to me.....so glad there are others in the same boat (sorry for you though
)

our car was near-death - mine not near-death (thankfully) this week but overdue MOT and found I had to buy 2 new tyres to pass MOT for my car tax on Wed (had to borrow the money to pay for it)
I have got lazy in terms of housework, because I spend far far too much time sat in front of the tv/pc! - check
OH has been off work for the last 3 weeks (I'm not getting into that at all, I'm wound up enough as it is! - check!) but has done very little around the house - check
I am holding down a full time job - check
looking after my 3 kids - check
not getting any 'me' time and coming home to a house that is a tip - check
I am somewhat resentful! - check
And that has lead to me not doing much at all! - check
Off to read your diary and hoping it's happy ending and I get inspiration

Okay so I've read your diary and am slightly freaked out by the fact that I posted on here a few weeks ago telling you about my leak in the ceiling when coming back from hols. I didnt' know it was your diary I'd posted on earlier and this proves that we are twins from parallel universes :rotfl:
I hope things are settling down and really do hope that your OH at least appreciates you for what you do, or at least realises how much you do.
I am in the same boat and feel that if I were to walk out right now then everything would fall flat on it's face, not bigging myself up too much of course  but OH wouldn't have the faintest idea about bills, ie TV licence, water rates etc, wouldn't be able to tell you what day DS goes to football club, would have no idea what size shoes the kids take etc etc, all the basic stuff would be lost on him because I've been busy running this family for the last 20 years. Bascially I've been a bit of a door mat probably in other peoples eyes, in my mind I think I'm a bit of a control freak and will not delegate!
OH, however, does love his kids (and me), if I tell him it's DS's football club that day he will get all excited and try and coach DS  and go to the school to watch him play and bring him home. He loves doing things with the kids, which is great, but the house is a tip
DD1 is now 17 and a lot more reliable and in fact if something needed to be done and I wasn't in to do it, I'd ask her rather than OH
You can't teach an old dog new tricks and I reckon I got an old dog. So, I've gotta either put up or shut up. I'm thinking, if you don't mind me saying.... you've gotta do the same in your situation.
My OH also suffers with mild depression, which does irritate me as, although I do understand to a certain extent, I feel sometimes he milks it with me but I obviously can't say that to him incase he's not
Anyway, I'm going to stop sabbotaging your thread now (maybe I should start my own one, though no one would probably read) and think about getting the hoover out.
Hoping things work out your end

Thanks Jo, you sabbotage away!! What you've just posted is so true - spooky!
I do need to put up or shut up, same as you, but do you find that a lot of the time you don't bother because it will either fall on deaf ears, or will just cause you more grief in the long run?
Thanks for reading anyway, hope things work out your end too
