Oooh 'free rent' month... I find 4-weekly stuff a bit confusing at times with calendar-monthly DDs and whatnot but 4-weekly money coming in (and calendar-monthly money for DDs as well!) My bonus is that in two or three months I get a 'free' payment of tax credits and child benefit plus a council tax-free month all around the same time.
It's one of the benefits of being a DFW - I wouldn't have really had a clue, I'd have probably realised it happened at some point but never actually sat down and worked out which payments. So works out well for you with your rent-free month - good luck with working out what to doDealing with my debts!Currently overpaying Virgin cc -balance Jan 2010 @ 1985.65Now @ 703.63

Hi Sarah, really nice to see you posting again. I know writing in a diary can soon become a chore but I find it keeps you on the straight and narrow
The secret santa is such a good idea, shame they didnt let you know sooner  As you say though you now dont have to worry about the coming year. What a nice christmas present by having a 'free month', very mse to throw it towards your debt too. I agree that maybe a card will be a better idea as your OD is such a low interest rate. Plus fingers crossed that egg will give you another promo rate to lower your apr on another debt too. Let us know what you decide
So sorry to hear about your oh, I hope whatever is wrong it can easily be treated. Is he still in the different store then? Fingers crossed for his licence...Glad to see Connor enjoyed christmas, children always get so many presents so I understnad why you didnt go mad. Its when they get older they cost more
Have a great new year Sarah and enjoy joinig all the challenges etc that mse offers. I hope the coming year is fab for you and your family....

I think I have just about had enough of this year!! It is pay day today, which was good for me, but OH only got just over half of his normal monthly wage  There go my big plans for the free money month!!:mad:
And the most annoying thing is that it is his fault, and he doesn't seem to give two sheeites!!:mad::mad: He's off sick, which is not his fault, but he missed three Drs appts - two because he'd already planned to go to London to visit his sister, but didn't bother to cancel the appts, and one this morning because he thought it was for 1600.... and when I dug the card out his wallet, it was for 0950... and he's still in bed!!! And to top it all, his med cert ran out on the 28th, so he's currently on no pay, has not contacted the HR dept at work so will no likely be paid for his absence!
I am at my wits end, I tried talking to him this morning, but he doesn't want to discuss it! I can't get through to him that if he does not work, we cannot afford to eat once the rent and nursery fees are paid!!:mad:
Right now it's all I can do not to scream and shout at him (although I know it will make naff all difference!) so instead I am going to empty out his bank account and wait for the fall out!! I was looking forward to spending the next few days at home with him, now I just wish I was back at work, I can't bear to look at him, I'm so angry!!!
Right now thats off my chest, I must stop feeling sorry for myself, get dressed (yep, I'm still in my jammies) and tidy up after yesterday's little party!
Hope everyone has a great night tonight

I'm not surprised you are angry, and I wish there was something I could do or say to make it better.

Thanks Hypno, I wish there was something I could do or say to make it better too!

Great to see you posting again! What a shame that your OH just seemed to be taking things on board more and has now slipped back. I hope that he gets a diagnosis quickly and recovers quickly. It is so tough on you- hope next year is better than this has been! xx2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0
