  • Ok, little updatey type thingy.....

I am seriously addicted to FarmVille on FB :o My farm is not pretty at the minute as I'm trying to make some money! Lol! Have some lovely MSE farm neighbours though so thats good.

Got an email from Egg offering 4.9% on BTs until March 10 with a 2.99% fee... so I think I will BT the Sains card onto there, as the int rate for that is 19.9% I think, so I will be saving. But before I do that, I need to empty my terramundi (which unfortunately will mean breaking it :( )... but it needs to be emptied as there's a fair bit of money in there (I know there's at least £150 in notes in there!) so I want to get that to the bank tomorrow and pay thatoff before I do the BT.

Things are gonna be tight again this month... OH has been back to work :) although tonight when he goes in, the person he's been getting all the grief from will be there so I don't know thats gonna go! I have no idea what he's been paid for this month, so next months budget isn't gonna be finalised until payday  but I know its going to be tight as a duck @r$£ as he's also got his pay day loan to pay off  plus he needs to send some money to his cc

Have had a lovely chill out day with DS, went to a local farm shop with the intention of seeing all the animals... until DS saw the swings, so we spent the next two hours there..... stopped for a bit of lunch then more swings :) Still, he had a good time! Do need to get moving again now though (currently watching Wonder Pets with DS while typing this) need to get dinner on, roast chicken, plus tidyup the kitchen.

Have got a couple of things to ebay, but its a bit early as they are wintery things, so I may just leave them for a couple of weeks until it gets colder, so I get more money for them :)

Think thats it for now, must go and see if my cow is ready to be milked :D

Much as I love animals I think I might have chosen the swings too!
Glad OH is still back at work- lets hope he focuses on sorting himself out a bit with the finances!

  • Ok, so sealed pot opened and counted, and there was £260 in notes and £148.60 so I am a happy bunny :D The plan was to pay it off the Sains card before doing the BT, but then I realised just how much the interest is on the OD... 0% for the first £250, then 17.9% and as the OD was sat at nearly £700, I decided to pay it off there instead. Will phone up tomorrow to reduce the OD to £500. So I have transferred the £1700 off the Sains card onto the Egg card, which will be 4.9% for the next 6 months. Now need to do a snowball again!

OH seemed to get on fine at work last night, despite the person he's been in conflict with (another manager) being there for at least 3 hrs whilst he was..... perhaps times are changing after all :)

Anyways, was expecting a delivery to be made tonight for food shopping, butI've just had a call to say that its not gonna be delivered, so I'm gonna have to nip out and get it!

Wow- great work on the sealed pot and debt paying. I thought it was good when I had about £45 in mine!!
I'm glad things went ok with OH and the other manager.
What a pain about the food shopping though- I hope they'll compensate you properly with a free food shop or something!

  • Been a little while since I've updated, so will do a brief one of the last few days.....

Things have settled down moneywise, we will have a proper wage from OH this month (thankfully) so we should be able to catch up with ourselves finally! I have about £400 on my Sainsburys card, but that will be paid off on pay day. Had to use the card to buy food etc after such a carppy wage from OH last month... did sacrifice my hair cut money though and paid that off the card :) That does mean that I will have to wait another 4 months until I can have it cut again.
Will be able to do my monthly saves again this month, wasn't able to last month, so thats good, but some of that will go straight off the card, as I also had to buy DS some clothes as he's had a bot of a growth spurt! Will also have a 'spare' £40 a month because I save that for hols normally, but as the outlaws aren't re-newing their caravan this time, we may not be going on holiday for a while! Might start an emergency fund in my currently empty ISA...?! Or I could save a lump sum to pay off the 0% cards just before the offer runs out.

OH has been going to work since his mini meltdown, and seems to be doing ok so far, fingers crossed things stay that way!
The rest of the debt is still going down slowly... but at least its going down! Even OH's Egg card is getting £50 a month!!

Gonna start trying to potty train DS in the next few days.... wanted to start today, but he was so tired, he just threw tantrum after tantrum all day! I don't think its fair or right to send him to nursery for the next two days without doing at home first, so Wednesday and Thursday will be pants days - plus that gives me the chance to get another step for the toilet, as he uses the one I bought for getting on the bed.

Think thats it really... I'm off work this week, not planning to do much, a bit of r&r, take delivery of the new dining room table and chairs, maybe paint the living room. The only firm plans I have are the delivery of the table.... nice :D

Good to hear that things are improving for you, enjoy your week off :)
  • Hi Sarah -

Just had a quick look over your diary and wanted to say hello *waves*

I know how it feels to be dealing with debts alone, my OH's attitude is that everyone's in debt so it doesn't matter that we are as its normal - god he makes me angry!

Anyway best of luck in your debt free journey :D
