    Hey Sarah!
How is the housework rota going?
I might have to steal that idea as I don't know that I can keep up with flylady when I'm back to work!
    How is life generally?

  • Came to a stand still Jellie... we went on holiday :D

So been a bit up and down the last week and a half.... OH didn't get his med cert in before the pay cut off, so only got paid for 3 weeks, plus no shift premium, so we are skinter than a skint thing this month!
So we went on holiday, which was good, and didn't spend too much more than I thought....:D
Now OH is out spending our last £30 and we don't get paid for another 3 weeks

So some serious budgetting for the next three weeks, and minimal food shopping! And I am PRAYING beyond belief that OH goes back to work soon, because a) we can't afford for him to be off too much longer and b) he is seriously doing my head in!!!
I feel terrible because he is off with stress from work (he is being 'picked on' by a couple of people and he thinks they are trying to get him sacked after a previous issue, long since resolved)... he also has a history of depression. The problem is that while I love him and will support him as best I can, I just do not understand stresss and depression. I don't suffer from it, I don't understand it, and I can't pretend that I do. There, said it. I'm not proud but it needs to be said, for my sanity.

AND THEN.... we get home from our holiday to discover that our water tank has a leak and has been dripping through the ceiling, down the stairs and into the living room - nice! The LL is coming round tomorrow, so that means mad housework inthe morning!:mad:

Erm, thats it really.... got a LOT to catch up on, especially the housework! lol!

god i love this! i dont understand it either, got a mate who suffers from it and i just dont get it, i love the way you have put this Sarah and want to say it to so many people!
  • Been a few days since I updated (surprise surprise!)..... so what has happened...?

Well, OH didn't go back to the Dr as he has decided he is going back to work.... I'm not getting too excited until I actually see him walk through the door and clock in! I think he was spurred on by the fact he recieved a letter saying that as of the 25th he had run out of sick pay:eek: but still had 26 weeks of Statutory left. So *hopefully* he is going back to work on Tuesday night. Will need to work out what he will roughly be earning, as he will have 2 1/2 weeks of sick pay, 1 week of normal pay with shift premium and half a week of no pay..... will give it a go, although our pay is never the same from month to month. Mine is different every month, yet I do exctly the same hours ever week

Got the refund for the car tax I sent off last month, so £174.16 straight to the Virgin card :) However, due to OH's lack of money this month, and spending more than we should on holiday, we now have nearly £900 on the Sains card too.... argh!!! When will it end!?! On a plus note, I know I have a fair bit of money in my terramundi (at least £170 anyway :o ), so that will help, plus £230 appeared in OH's account this morning?! Its weird that its exactly the amount that I used to clear his two ODs before closing his other accs - either way I have transferred it out into mine, so will just have to wait and see what happens with that! I also seem to have £40 more in the monthly saves acc than I was expecting - again :rotfl:
I will have to switch my PADing back to the Sains card on payday, and stick within the budgets....

Need to get my sister something for her birthday, and have no clue what to get! Bad times! Its her birthday on Monday, and need to get the present to my Dads by 11am tomorrow as he's going to see her.

Right, must get going, gotta go to the PO before doing the shopping...

Fingers crossed for OH going back to work - it seems like that is going to make a big difference all round!

Just read your thread to date and wanted to say good luck to you. I think a lot of people can relate to what you are saying but you have obviously been around this site for a long time, so know what to do! Keep updating your diary and remember to take some time out for yourself, even if it's only 20 mins in a bubble bath at the end of the day.

  • Well the mystery of the £230 has been solved, and I am not surprised where the cash has come from..... I got a sh**ty text from OH yesterday demanding that I put his money back. Now this made me suspicious straight away, so I told him he could have it back once he'd told me where the money came from, as in his acc it just showed as a bank transfer. He was very evasive and got more sh**ty, so I reminded him of the £60 he'd borrowed the night before. He said to take that back and transfer the rest, so I did.
This morning I thought I would just check his browser history for the last few days, and lo-and-behold I find three different pay day loan websites in his history. Checked our AOL email acc, and its logged out (its *never* logged out!), and there was an email from PayDayLoansUK thanking him for his blah blah blah blah.... I didn't read any further than that!

I am not angry, I should be, but I am so used to him lying about money, that I'm at the point now where I am not bothered. I have long ago come to the conclusion that we will never be buying a house together - and a good job really because I'm not getting a financial link with him!

What really vexes me though is that he keeps saying that he hates having no money, but he can't see that stupid things like PayDayLoans, upgrading his phone at a cost of £300 and going out 3 nights a week are whats causing him to have no money in the first place!! And there's his £475 at 21% on his Egg card that has been all but forgotten!! Will be interested to see what happens when it needs paying back, no doubt it will bounce! :rotfl:

That light bulb has gone out, taken out the fitting and sent to landfill, never to be seen again!!!!

So no more talk of OH, his debt or his financial incompetance!!!

In other news, £10 free scratchies money went into my account today (or late yesterday as I suspect) so that has been PADed. Going for an NSD today, well do need to buy something, but its for MiL and she'll pay it back, so I'm not gonna count that :)

Thats it really, I hate it when the only update is OH being a k**b again! Oh well! Gotta go get dressed and get DS and the dog out for a walk :)

How strange, we came back from holiday last weekend to find the same thing! Why can't these things happen when you're in the house!!

Good luck with your debtbusting, I shall read with interest :)
