Thanks again Jellie, I tried the Flylady a long time ago and it didn't work out, but I'm gonna have a look again now that my motivation is coming back. I think I have got very lazy lately, and I need to just sort myself out (she says, at 1130 on a Saturday morning, still sat in her pjs!! Perhaps a virtual slap round the face will help me

I think the most obvious thing to do is to cut up all the cards and remove temptation! Can you return any of the Next items that have not been worn?
For housework, how does your OH respond to being given a list of tasks - does that put his back up? How would he respond to being asked how he thought the housework could be managed better? I used to have a really rigid system which was that Saturday was supermarket and cleaning day and it worked very well. I have really let it go just starting to play catch up: I now do the washing up and laundry (I don't iron!) and bits of vacuuming on a daily basis cos that takes ten to twenty minutes, and then when I have a half or full day to myself I clean the single dirtiest thing in the house - oven, fridge, windows, hand scrub the hard floors in the living area etc.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -

Thanks Fire Fox... I only have one card thats not cut up, all the others are because they have BT deals on them, and I'm not gonna ruin he good rates! We both get paid on Friday, so I will be cutting up the last remaining card on Friday
I work most Sats so its usually a Thursday that I do the housework, or in the evenings once DS has gone to bed. It usually works well, but I have been VERY lazy the last few weeksI don't iron either, only if OH needs a nice shirt!
Not sure whether OH would like a list for him or not, it would probably put his back up!! He has said today that he will be cutting the grass tomorrow and he'll do some bits.... tbh, I don't mind that he doesn't do housework when he's at work (he works the night shift so sleeps most of the day) but he was off work for 6 weeks and did very little, and he's just had last week off and did virtually nothing... that is what grates me! Hopefully he'll be going back to work this week and our routine will return... then I can organise myself!'We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars' - Oscar Wilde0 -
I went over to my lovely Dads this afternoon to show him my new car... he was suitably impressed! And then gave me a cheque for £1k!
He had said before that if I was getting a new car, he would help me out, but I never like to ask him for money! He's a funny old fruit, he helped my sister out last year when her and her OH moved house, and he likes things to be equal, so decided to give me that! I was nicely surprised.
So I will bank the cheque tomorrow and pay it straight off one of my CCs - I would pay it off my loan, but I get 10% of the interest paid as cashback at the end of the loan, but will have to forfeit that if I pay it off early... plus the interest is already applied so I actually wouldn't be saving any money. Hope that makes sense!
I added the £1k to my snowball and it takes 11 months of my CC free date
LOVE YOU DAD!!!

Hi Sarah
I hope you don't mind me posting. I think we both post on the 100 day challenge thread.
I just wanted to empathise with you and to wish you luck on your journey. It must be hard to feel like you are doing this alone without support from your OH. I wonder if you would consider setting goals and posting them on a kitchen cupboard or somewhere where you both can see it. If he sees that you are committed to achieving these things, maybe he will be more inclined to help towards those goals. For example, a goal such as 'a home of our own and DS' might be something he can sign up to.SarahNeedle1872 wrote: »Sadly I don't have a mortgage yet - the whole point of being DF was to save for a deposit for a house!
Part of my problem is that I am impatient, and wanna be DF yesterday!! So I am going to re-evaluate my budgets to try and ensure the spending spree doesn't happen again...
I think we all are impatient. I CANNOT wait to be debt free. Every bit of shaving, reviewing, re-educating is going to help you.SarahNeedle1872 wrote: »BUT, whats done is done, its time to move forward and bust this as best I can.... so my basic plan is:
* Pay off the cards as quickly as possible by transferring the Sains balance to the BT card, then PADing and vutting back where possible until they are gone!
* Use my time better at work, by being more productive and not allowing other people to sap my time. Use my diary to plan my day effectively!
* Clean one room a day properly, and tidy any others that need it.
* Keep doing 30 mins of exercise per day!
I really understand the the work thing - I have the same problem. I set time in my work diary for the tasks. I also check to see if what people are asking me to do is part of my job or someone elses. If people see you as helpful you end up doing far too much sometimes!
Re: cleaning - I have been following the 'proper' flylady website. It focuses on a room a week which seems to work better for me. Might be worth a look.
I am going to subscibe - hope you achieve your goals.

EDIT - P.S what a lovely gift from your Dad!0 -
That is such great news about the gift from your dad. So well timed. My mum is the same with trying to give money equally to us lot. Look at the difference on that Snowball- can't wait to see you updated ticker on the DFB thread!
I liked the Flylady site that Urg mentioned too. I'll probably swap to that once school starts again. Although it is very motivational doing things like that on here and I'm not sure if I'd be as motivated just using the web site.2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0 -
Today I have had a housework LBM! I made a four day rota yesterday of all the jobs that need doing and did day one today.... and it took me 30 mins
All I had to do was pull my finger out and do it! I put DS to bed, grabbed a quick cuppa and 30 mins later I was done
So the rota is as follows:
Day One
· Hoover and clean kitchen floor
· Kitchen sides
· Cupboard doors
· Clean fridge
· Hoover living room
Day Two
· Sweep stairs
· Hoover living room
· Clean stairs
· Clean floor
· Dust
· Hoover kitchen
Day Three
· Hoover bedrooms
· Dust bedrooms
· Hoover hallway
· Hoover kitchen
· Clean kitchen floor
Day Four
· Clean bathroom
· Hoover living room
· Hoover kitchen
· Clothes away
Washing up and washing will be done as and when it needs doing.
Happy days
Paid the cheque into the bank today and they said it will clear by Wednesday... looking forward to that PAD

God i so need one of these!!! Nice to hear/see you sounding a lot more positive and in a good mood :T0 -
i also need a housework LBM it's seriously lacking in my home. I hate the mess so much but don't always feel able to control it. I sometimes think having my DF LBM was the easiest thing and we all know how hard they are.0
