I have received a letter this morning from SP asking me if "I am absolutely sure I want to leave SP" as they have great deals in the offering, I also tried to access my SP online account and it seems I have been locked out. of it, so my change over must be well in hand..0

Well, so much for 6-8 weeks to switch. I applied on 14/8, and today received a letter from EDF to say my electricity supply switches on 6th September, and my gas on 23/9.
Only downside is that my £60 still hasn't tracked through TopcashbackYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -

I applied to EDF on 16th or 17th and I switch Elect on 7th Sep, I have'nt got a date yet for the Gas switch over,as you say it certainly does'nt take six weeks or more.0 -
I had a letter today from Scottish Power asking if I am sure I want to move, but there is no mention of the £50 penalty fee.
Tried to check my account online, but it says my account is being closed and I have no online account access. You're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -

As long as the change over is after 31st August 2009 there should be no fee.0 -

That's exactly the same position as I'm in at this moment in time, I had no mention of the penalty charge, how can they charge us if we are changeing supplier after the 31st Aug, haveing read what Craig (the SP rep) said earlier on in this thread they can't penalise us if we switch after the 31st. lets hope they have learnt from othere cases before us.0 -
Thats a pain if they close your online account access down even before you've switched - it means you're at their mercy when it comes to calculating the split pre/post 31st August.
I was going to put my readings in pre changeover to ensure the bills were correct and I didn't have too much credit with them.
EDIT - I've just logged in and they have entered estimates for 1st Sept - electricity is about right but gas is well over - still that'll be in my favour!!0 -

That is annoying. I want to know what they've charged me after the 31st August, what exit fee they've charged, but you can't log on. All you get is a message saying that your final bill is being prepared and it will take 3 weeks. :mad:0 -
I have had the same problem accessing my SP online account. I tried on Monday 31st August and couldn't access my account then. I don't switch electricity until today, and have no confirmed switch date yet for gas, so I can't believe they would deactive my online account so quickly, surely they should have waited until after the switch had taken place.0

I think I read on one of the other threads that SP will send us all a paper bill as a final bill and it will have all the final meter readings etc on it, I sent SP my meter readings on the 20th aug (as I normally do every month) so my final bill from SP should be about right.0
