Hi everyone, have spoken to someone at cccs who have taken down all my details and they came up with a figure of £428 for repayments to creditors which is an amount I can actually repay. I don't think I had missed anything when i did it online but obviously being a bit dim I had. I knew there was no way I could afford over £600 in payments. Was told that they would email info for me to look at and that I could call back tomoz to say if I think this is best solution for me (probably my only solution).
Feeling positive for first time in a week.:D
Before I go, will claiming bank charges, credit card charges and ppis affect whether creditors will accept offers, and what happens if they refuse offers cccs make?
Make sure you put in a 'financial hardship' claim for the fees. That way they have to consider your case now instead of waiting for the test case.
Have you introduced your husband to this site and all the help and support that is available?
Start doing paid surveys (see the up your income board) and enter competitions on the competitions thread, these things can mount up!
And the change jar is an excellent idea!

Sorry for picking up this thread late on, one thing I noticed was your MBNA interest rate. MBNA recently wopped my interest rate up to 29.9% and I called them to query this. They agreed to reduce my rate to 20.9% provided the stop the card and I make payments to pay back the balance I owe on it. This has dropped my monthly payments by £50 which means I am getting more of the balance down. My debts amount due to studying for 3 years but know I'm working I hope to never use a credit card again so I'm happy for MBNA to cancel the card and once the balanec is paid, it's gone forever which I'll be happy with. Might be worth speaking with them to see if they can do something similar for you.

Fantastic, sometimes all it takes is a phone call!

Quick post to let you all know how I'm doing. Have asked cccs to send out dmp, and will be sending nominal amounts to creditors this month.
Saving £25 per month on sky. YEAH!
New utility provider is saving me £12 per month with £15 cashback. DOUBLE YEAH!
Have joined lightspeed panel and global test market to do online surveys (just completed 1st one), goin 2 save these points towards xmas.
And biggest and best news - hubby is being super supportive as he can see I'm sortin this big mess out.
Anyone out there who is in a similar position, please be aware there is a way out of that dark hole.
Good luck to all, and well done to those already dealing with their debts. (((big hugs)))August 2009 - Debt free - August 2013

Every day there is a general daily chat thread for DFW'ers to chat, it's usually loads of fun, I've been in stitches on occasions and everyone is great.
We've even had a few meets when we all get together!

Hi Jo
It seems like you are already making significant progress to setting up your DMP. It will only get better. Get yourself on the chat thread. I found for me, here gave me the opporunity to be myself albeit in a virtual world but I really could leave all my troubles behind. It was invigorating.
Oh, hows hubby being? LenThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
