As usual, the people who troll most bandy around their 'huge post counts' as some kind of getout clause that allows them to troll.
Please, go flex your e-peen elsewhere.
And if you're always happy to help people here, why is it that youve been no help to me?
ho hum
I and others are on here to try to help other members, new or old, though it maybe you haven't grasped the concept of a discussion forum, personal insults are never a good start.
You don't have to agree with what I post, you don't have to take any notice of advice anyone posts, but it would be nice if personal attacks weren't being made.
What more help could I give, other than pointing out a few facts, the facts were there simply so you could make up your own mind whether the service you have chosen is the best for you.
My point about the post count was simply, as this is a moderated forum, if I was a troll I wouldn't still have an account on here. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
I visited this board for advice, instead what I got from BexTech was a slating of TT... no advice. Without asking about my specific phone/bband usage he/she dived in there with pedantic comments distinguishing between 'free' and 'inclusive' as well as alluding to my 'brainwashing' by TT... that was hardly helpful nor was it advice.
I'm not here to cause trouble, I like most others am here to find ways to save money and offer/gain advice where needed.
What you won't find me doing is making pointless posts that help no-one."The reasonable man adapts to the world,
The unreasonable man adapts the world to himself,
Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man."0 -
bbb_uk wrote:Forgive me if I'm wrong but I thought I read in their CPW mags that Caller Display was included with it? This was back when you had to take the international option which cost a £1 more despite it being advertised as free which later resulted in TalkTalk being told off by the ASA.
It definitely isn't included now from what I can see so either I was wrong to start with or that it was included back when you had to take the international option but since they were forced to make it available to those that took the normal all-inclusive plan they decided to drop it!
I don't remember it ever being free, that's not to say it wasn't, I'm just sure it was still a chargeable item. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... I have to say, we have been on TT option 3 with free broadband for a few months now, having switched from BT (phone) and Pipex (broadband). We have a real world saving of about £20 per month (i.e.£240 per annum) across the two functions, with absolutely no loss of any service. I have not had to use the CS lines,so cannot comment, but I have heard enough to suspect them to be quite poor. Pipex were not A1 either.
We have already saved about £80, and now use the phone a lot more a all times of the day- so we are happy chappies at the moment.0 -
I suspect the vast majority of TT's new Option3 with Bband customers are indeed happy... people tend not to announce that theyre happy with a service, but when theyre unhappy with it they complain bitterly.
This unfortunately gives a very one-sided portrayal of TT's product.
It's nice ot hear at least someone is happy twills99, hopefully i'll be able to post that i'm happy too!
October 25th is the 'promised' bband connection date for me, i wonder if they'll achieve it."The reasonable man adapts to the world,

Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man."0 -
another happy talktalk customer here too - I signed up in april had my broadband by may and it has been fine ever since - i was with tesco before and talktalk is 10x better - i would suggest im saving about £25 per month ish so im more than happy -0

Their churn rate is awful. Of the “about 500,000″ new subscribers, Its estimated that “80-120,000″ have already thrown the towel in, and that was within a few months of the offer starting.
Do you think all these people would have left if things in the garden were as rosy as you seem to think they are.?
Why did Watchdog recieve a huge number of complaints about them if just a minority of people were unhappy.?0 -

Can I ask where this information came from? because I think it may be way way over inflated.0 -

Do you work for them by any chance?
I notice from this press release here http://www.cpwplc.com/cpw/ir/lse/rnsitem?id=1160557203nRNSK2850K
They have had approx 625,000 applications but of course they dont give churn rate.0 -

Why do you ask, do you work for a TT competitor?
Even if we go by the churn figures quoted here, it still leaves the VAST majority of TT's new customers as non-complainers.
@ utilitybroker: this estimated 80-120k customers who have apparently thrown in the towel already, where do those figures come from? I'd be very interested to see some proof.
re: Watchdog complaints and the'huge' amount you say they received... do you have numbers or is it some arbitrary figure that you interprate as huge?
Even if watchdog had 100k complaints, (which i seriously doubt) that would still leave the vast majority of customers happy!
C'mon people, either be constructive and accurate with your hating or !!!!!!"The reasonable man adapts to the world,
