thats the point of upermarkets though is it not, to get customers in,0 -
I did. I bought the stuff from Asda and made it myself. The point to was that a cafe within a supermarket totally run out of something at half 10 - 11 in the morning when there is tons of it within the supermarket.
Supermarkets have given over a lot of their warehouse space to increase shop floor to give more choice to shoppers. That means they rely on smaller regular deliveries. So if a supplier is late or an item is missing then it can cause problems.
With regards to getting a bottle of the shelve they would have to dispose of the bottle after one use because their is a lot of nutters out there and you couldn't risk giving the bottle to someone else in case it has been posioned.
I am sure if you had been given a bottle of sauce third hand that someone had spat in you would not be best pleased.0 -
On Saturday our local Morrisons had run out of tomato sauce sachets, the girl on the till said there were bottles on the tables instead. There were.
Problem was, those 'in possession' of the bottles didn't particularly want to 'share'. The first person I asked said "I'm still using it". When our bacon rolls arrived I walked back over, just took it and threw over my shoulder "I'll bring it back in a minute".
My problem wasn't with the store, it was the ignorant customers!0 -
Reminds me of when I went into Morrisons and ordered an omelette, only to be told they had run out.
I pointed to the shop floor and told them they had shelves of eggs, only to be told that all their meals were shipped to each store already cooked and frozen. They then microwaved them when ordered.
I had the same in Sainsburys. I ordered fish, chips and garden peas. I was told, 10 minutes after I'd placed the order, that they'd run out of peas. When I pointed out that there a supermarket full of peas 10 yards away he looked at me as though I was insane and said they'd run out of peas and that was that.0 -
Sauce is sauce and breakfast is not complete without it. Why can't staff just use what used to be called initiative? Get a bottle of the shelf.
Just because common sense wasn't applied - doesn't mean the staff were incapable.Nothing I say represents any past, present or future employer.0 -
sorry but OP, people like u really get on my WICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ur the type that goes into a fastfood place with a family order and get the food but want a refund when they say they have run out of ketchup, OR go into a bar and ask for a coffee/tea and when told they have run out, u tell the staff to go buy some.
like SERIOUSLY.... DO IT YOURSELF!!!!!! GO to starbucks for a coffee. go buy ur own sauce! if its run out get an alternative or do without!!!!!! or better yet carry round sachets with u (plenty to nick from bhs), coz I do.0
