Our new (well 12months old) morrisons nearest to us is lovely and the staff are fab. They go my little girl a bottle of ketchup off the shop floor when they had ran out. The service and the food quality is great, but the other older morrisons in the large town nearby is rubbish, rubbish food, service and surly staff.

Same goes for all the supermarkets I have found. Good stores and bad stores as well as good staff and bad sadly.

But the sauce the cafe supply is HP so they could just use HP off the shelves.

Afraid not... Stuff bought by cafe trade differs to average retail stuff... Ever noticed how Fabs (the ice lollies) bought in supermarkets are about half the size of the ones bought from cafes?

As already mentioned, from a legal point of view the cafe is not covered - if a customer gets an allergic reaction to the stuff the cafe got off the shelves because that was made in a nut-handling factory, and the sache stuff is made in a nut-free factory, they could get sued...

OMG .. how did I know you were going to say Ponte?!!

Do NOT buy anything from the cafe OR from the supposed-fresh self service salad part - EVER!!

I know people who work there and they say hygiene is not as strict as it should be ... they mess about with best before dates dependent on how much of a product they have in stock so God knows how old food really is!

When I said so why don't you say something or report them, they all say they would rather keep their jobs, pocket their wage and go to Tesco or Sainsburys to shop!

They all say they wouldn't buy anything from Morrisons unless it was in a tin ...

Sauce is sauce and breakfast is not complete without it. Why can't staff just use what used to be called initiative? Get a bottle of the shelf.

I did consider it but decided I would be better going to get some Pork and Blackpudding sausages from Asda and make my own brekkie and use some of the 8 bottles of sauce at home.

    It's a long story how I came to have 8 bottles :o

OK, I'm no psychiatrist but I'm sensing that brown sauce has an important symbolic significance to you.

More importantly, who the hell makes sausages from black pudding? That's very odd.

I do like to have brown sauce with my breakfast so to me it is an important part of it.

The sausages are Asda Extra Special ones and the black pudding is supplied by the Bury Black Pudding company. Now that is one part of a breakfast that is very important, if it has black pudding it's got to be Bury black pudding as I was born and brought up in Bury which is of course home to the lovely black pud :D:D

There is the problem. Initiative is not part of the job spec and the use of it is frowned on by management because it makes them look stupid. Draw your own conclusions from that.

    So other supermarkets are interesting?

I'd say so, yes! My sister and I can easily spend 2-3 hours in a supermarket.
