so whats the solution? as said before we all need to put our heads together on this one and work as a team if this thread is to continue.this does mean that someone has to be in control of this thread, and they have the final say, some may not like that but then they can always leave cant they?
The only one with a "final say" is Mr Lewis or any of his team. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Blocking of coupons is done centrally, not by Managers instore. But I don't know why it takes the central team so long to act sometimes to make that change to the tills.
Just as an aside, I work in an express and for the last 3 weeks, the instructions on one of our card payment key pads has been printed upside down and back to front - this was reported straight away and we are still waiting for it to be fixed!!! If I had a £ for every customer who has told me it is wrong, I could quit work and couponing!!!!0 -
Veggiecar and a few others have mentioned abandoning Post 1 to deter the lurkers.
I can't see how folks can believe this will deter anyone - if there are say 10 pages a day, and someone's making up to £1000 a week (if you believe the Clowne store free-for-all), that's a worthwhile time investment, surely? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. HB - no-one's getting cross because you're all sharing the same opinion!
If people can calmly discuss with people who have a DIFFERENT opinion, as opposed t o the attacks I received on Friday for offering to PM people the magazine coupons, then we might get somewhere.
hi there, i actually calmly had a conversation with you on Friday with regards to the mag coupons, you in turn stated to me your opinion on them, and then it all kicked off from there.
we can all have a different opinion, no one will disagree with that at all, and of course a different opinion doesn't necessarily mean the right opinion but thats what we are discussing right now, how to solve this,
do you have any imput on this topic at all?0 -
Last point - the thorny issue of morals and coupons.
Everyone's got a different view on here - some of those that come across as being the coupon police have also posted their own dubious tales in the past.
As a starting point, do most even accept the definition of a "genuine coupon user" as someone who uses each coupon according to it's stated Terms and Conditions, which means using each coupon to purchase the exact product stated?
So many times on here I've seen the term "genuine coupon user" bandied about by people abusing coupons but obviously doing so within Tesco's coupon policy.
I use coupons within Tesco's policy, but not according to the conditions printed on the coupon itself. So therefore, I'm a coupon abuser. Anyone else? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
AIUI, any poster on MSE can post on any thread. How do you intend to prevent people posting a different on-topic opinion?
The only one with a "final say" is Mr Lewis or any of his team.
thats not what my post was about bham-dave,people can post any opinion they want, but if the person who takes over control of the first page would have the ultimate desicion as to whether certain coupon links were posted, IE:those open to abuse

I'm happy to see the thread continue as it is, but honestly couldn't be bothered to maintain the first post myself. (Used to do something similar on the old Boots thread and it's a real faff!) So I could empathise if no-one wants to do that. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I use coupons within Tesco's policy, but not according to the conditions printed on the coupon itself. So therefore, I'm a coupon abuser. Anyone else?
I play by Tesco's policy, even if all their stores don't.;)
I would prefer to see the policy continuing as opposed to people abusing that policy.
I will normally also TRY one of the products, when I get multiple coupons, and if I like it, I may continue to "buy" it.
But, briefly, NO, I don't play by the T+C on the coupon, because I will not normally use it to buy the specific product;)It's nice to be nice .....
You HAVE checked google before asking, haven't you?;)
If you use the "search this thread" button at the top of the page, you may find it's been answered already!;)0
