Wow! I have 11 pages of reading to catch up on!!! Anyway, I just wanted to tell you that in one of the stores I use they have stopped accepting Smart coupons altogether. They said they can not get their money back from them. I'm going to get in touch with Smart coupons and Pedigree (I tried to use the 59p one, not the puppy ones) and see what they have to say about it. I must admit, I still don't like the "look" of Smart coupons and I certainly think they need to stop folks from being able to print as many as they like especially since they have a unique ID number on them that doesn't change one each coupon that is printed out (iyswim).

You could always by-pass smart-coupon, and advise Pedigree to use couponnet, since they are more secure.
That is presumable why huggies went back to couponnet after their "new" Smart-coupons ended up selling hundreds on abay within days.

I think the main list should be maintained but we should take a bit of responsbility for this mess.

We as a group openly let it be put on the front page.... its fine to blame the imbeciles who used mag coups but to be honest they are peopel only looking out for themselves. I've heard stories of some gang running around different MR Ts hitting them multiple times a day with these mag coups.

As i said if we clearly took a responsiblity view not to share/post or add to front page coupons which will obviously lead to removal of policy on front page.

I like the front page as it is.. just without abusable coups... like the pampers coupon and the mag coupons.

  • it seem peeps are now falling over themselves to condemn the mag mocs..

my question is why didn't you have the courage to speak out earlier as myself and one or two others did about 6 weeks ago, it's no good shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted and as the coupon policy slips slowly down the plug hole....

people are scared to speak out for fear of upsetting the apple cart and being flamed ( you may notice that I am not and get treated like a pariah by some!)

please don't keep telling me this is a friendly thread as we all know it's not after this weekend's b1tching...

we need to take collective responsibility and be a lot more honest on here...

Not trying to be argumentative, but where would you draw the line, only high value, low stocked items, only pdfs, only ones without PINs on them, should the thread be changed to only Tesco allowable, or should that be a seperate section.....unfortunately, these and a host of other questions will never:eek:get unanimously agreed upon by the thread self-policing.

So, perhaps, it has to be down to the updater, if there is one, to make the judgement calls, and let their decision be final, anyone wanting their own rules can always start a more specific thread of their own, and take responsibility for running and policing it.
Or, perhaps, if a set number of people thought that a specific coupon was likely to cause abuse, then it could get automatically removed....eg you post that you think that the mag link is open to abuse...if 20 folk agree, by thanking, then it is removed on the next update:confused:
Then no further discussion is given to whether it SHOULD be on or not:confused:

Just some ideas to ponder before we all start looking at tangents;)

Thats what I meant VC. Someone should take the role of judge/juror/executioner :P.

Basically we made the decision on the pampers coupon... so now it should just encompass pampers + mag coupons... as we all knopw they dont sell enough for couponing needs.

  • I haven't quoted, but here are my thoughts on the last 10 or so posts.

This threads biggest asset is the volume of people who contribute to it, more people= more coupon finds and more valuable information.
It is also though it's biggest weakness, more people= more personality's, different moral positions etc (and we all know what that leads to:rolleyes:).

Re the magazine coupons yes a few weeks ago 2 people said a couple of times they should be removed, but 1 person said they were valid genuine printables and should stay on. I did ask for some opinions and I would act on the majoritys decision but nothing was said till more recently. I didn't feel comfortable just taking it upon myself to remove them without a small consensus of opinion.

Updating the first post actually wasn't too bad Honey did all the hard work setting it up so well, I admit I did feel like I had to read it twice a day to make sure it was up to date but if anything did need doing it didn't take too long. I didn't mind doing it, but I just felt that if people thought I was trying to stop others from posting and take over the thread, my time would be better spent with my toddler.

Where we go forward from here I have no idea:confused:
