Marketing franchise with the same selection of their franchisees as Best Western (Hotels) - pay their their franchise fee.

But good referral commission to EAs (or brokers too idle/irresponsible/greedy to build a proper relationship with a solicitor partnership).

  • Awful. caused us so much stress I felt ill for months. Please don't use them even if they are a bit cheaper. I could write a book about how bad they are but it makes me bad just thinking about them.
  • Hi all. We are using them at the moment and experience has been mixed. The two weeks or so everything was progressing smooth and fast with provision of ID and documents requiring signature. But halfway through my case handler has changed and things seem to have stagnated. The new case handler also me asked me questions they would have known if they simply looked at my file online or had a handover from previous handler.

What has been most frustrating has been not getting updates. If I got two updates a week at least I'd be happy) . To be fair they have called back when left message but hard to reach handler first time when you call.

I went with them because they were recommended by the Home Owners Alliance so I hope it'll work out in the end. The jury's still out but I'm also conscious that I maybe an impatient FTB.
  • 4 months after instructing PPL for our sale (no onward purchase) and we're still waiting. The rest of the chain are pretty upset. The main problems seem to be the total lack of pro-active communication, and individual attention to the case.

Basically they seem like a cheap (although not so cheap in the end!), high volume shop who are probably fine dealing with any sale/purchase which requires no attention from a solicitor. As soon as anything (and I mean ANYTHING) comes up that needs some attention, they're worse than useless.

Communication is appalling, calls are seldom returned, and I seem to spend every waking hour trying to speak to my 'conveyancer'. I've managed it about 4 times in 4 months...

I've used online companies for conveyancining the past with no problems, which is why I went with PPL, but never, ever again...

Hi Steve. 4 months and you're still waiting for them to start conveyancing or to exchange?

That will be majority of high volume cheap conveyancing factories. Anything which doesn't follow a standard format and you're in difficulties.
  • Just exchanged on a repossessed property and used Premier property lawyers- they were quite efficient time frame wise although I had to read through all contracts, raise issues and literally conveyance myself-- or perhaps i was just too nervous
  • I get daily phone calls asking me to send information I have already supplied. They have lost all the copies I sent of planning permission, roof work certificates and work guarantees.

If you phone and ask them difficult questions they hang up on you. Getting hold of them during evenings when you have the information to hand is almost impossible. I only chose them because my purchasers were using them and my original solicitor had retired. Never again. Certainly won't be using them for my purchase when I find a house I like.

I used them for sale and purchase that completed last month.

In fairness I think it largely depends on your case manager. We had leena shah and got say she was great.

We had problems too, with the buyers sols and actually doubt we would have completed when we did if it wasn't for her.

My advice to anyone would be to ask to get her assigned or, now I am aware of other people's experience, perhaps avoid.

My buyer used this company to act for him, he ended up with Ms Shah. Edited highlights:

They nearly messed up the exchange and the completion to the point the deal nearly fell through.
Lied to my buyer about not receiving documents he knew they had.
    Lied about timescales to complete.
Lied about sending documents to my conveyancer.
Initially requested his funds using a means that they would arrive after contracted completion.
On completion day were asking him to send them bank statements and sign documents.

I'll make sure if I move again that nobody in the chain is using this company.

Premier Property Lawyers, each word in their name is a lie.

We used them last year and they almost lost us the flat!

They were so slow, clearly didn't understand what we wanted and, rather worryingly, did not understand some of the documents that they were sent.

At one stage, we were advised that our "Solicitor" had gone on holiday.

During our week of exchange, to be exact. No-one had let us know this no hand over had been done, she was just going to let the date come and go without any further communications.

At this point a lost my temper rather and vented at the person who answered phone, who immediately understood what was going wrong and agreed that this was unacceptable.

So I got him to take over the case and we had moved inside 3 weeks.

    AFTER ALMOST 7 MONTHS.
