look at my login name that should sum up.
I am buying a property any these people are being used by the seller is has been 5 months so far! Diabolical service as far as I can see and to top it up their top conveyancer has now moved to a different area so everything is stupidly slow. I think the Estate agents must get a back hander for advising their clients to use their recommended people! Disgusted at the lack of speed service professionalism.
Not a happy bunny!0 -
Can't agree more with the negative responses above but it has proved they are consistently bad! They were recommend to me by London and Country (must get a fee for that) and wish I'd never heard of them! Unresponsive, constantly chasing them and far from professional, some of what the call centre staff said to us was so rude. Same issues as others on this post, also had 3 different people assigned to my case and the team leader still refuses to respond to my emails or return my calls.
Just wish I had seen this post before I used them...
BUYERS AND SELLER BEWARE!!0 -
Don't touch them with a barge pole. Perhaps if you have a very simple property with no chain and not in a rush might be ok but even then for your sanity go with somebody else.0

Hi,
Registered just to post.
Recently completed (finally) using PPL who were recommended by House network (who were fantastic BTW) anyway. I've never felt so unimportant in a process before. Constantly calling our conveyancer who lacks the social skills to hold a conversation seeing as he would not tell us vital information. Even lied to us when he said we needed to get a boiler certificate which was the result of a buyers enquiry. Turns out after the fact the buyer didn't even request it and would have let it slide as they were replacing the boiler. I wont go into the day of completion fiasco, which resulted in us completing late. So in summary these conveyancers value going on a team lunch for two hours rather than sorting out their clients on completion day.
DONT USE THEM ITS NOT WORTH THE STRESS :eek:0 -
We've started the process of purchasing a property and have been recommended by the Estate Agent to use PPL, they are keen to push this as the vendor has also chosen to use them (I'm guessing they were also pushed in to it).
After reading this thread and various other online reviews I'm seeing nothing but negative comments about PPL, does anybody have any recommendations on a good Property Lawyer or should I stick to local Solicitors that I can meet face to face?0 -
I was recommended PPL so we got a quote. They we're almost £1200 more than the lowest quote, on a standard purchase only0

Using the same solicitor as the vendor is a really bad idea - you need your solicitor to be representing your interests and yours alone. Pretty sure someone recently posted on here saying that their lender had required them to change solicitor because their vendor was using the same one...0 -

dj1471 - thanks very much for your comments, we're going to go ahead with a local solicitor that will solely represent us and are not PPL.
And for those interested our standard quote from PPL was £1548.80 on a purchase price of £285k.0 -
we are currently using this company (recommended by InterCounty Estate agents) to sell and buy my property. This started at least 2 months ago and the nightmare is still on going. we have had to live in a hotel for the past 3 nights and possibly tonight if the purchase of our new house does not go through. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. they are not cheap and the hassel and stress they have caused is unbelievable, use them at your peril0

DO NOT TOUCH THIS COMPANY WITH A BARGE POLE
Never have I regretted something so much. The 'service' from this company is so dreadful that I get chest pains every time I call them - they don't call me, even when I leave voicemails and email them.
Been with them in a sale and purchase for nearly 5 months now after my solicitor, Nazma, saying "you'll definitely be moved by July"....
I'd have expected a quicker process as we've got a cash buyer and the person we're buying from has already bought and moved into their new place.
Constantly lied to when my calls are answered - my solicitor is always off on holiday or sick and get this - no one looks at her cases while she's off! Cannot believe it.
When they do act for you, they get things wrong - not just one-offs, but regularly. i.e.- Calling me three times in one week asking me to send back a signed mortgage deed when they'd already called me the week before to say they'd received it.
- We asked them to contact the people we're buying from regarding an issue with woodworm in the roof of the house. After 3 months I got a response about treating the garage roof.....! I'm not planning on living in the garage.
- Kept asking for info about the Leasehold of our property - we're FREEHOLD.
- Asking
- Asking us to get our marriage certificate certified - the top of the certificate says "Certified copy of an entry of marriage" and signed off along a line that says "Certified to be a true copy of an entry in a register in my custody"
The list goes on - tried calling again for an update - the phone just ringgggggsssss. No answer. VERY ANGRY. Please don't use this company - they trade as 1st Property Lawyers and Premier Property Lawyers.0
