Did you get them recomended via an EA - if so get the EA to hassle them too..
Mine was pretty goood.. he did 'go silent' when there was nothing to say.. and I did escalate issues a couple of times - but the issues were mainly with - the other parties solicitors - delaying things rather than mine..
I think its the same for all house things - hassle hassle hassle.. squeeky wheels get oiled andall that0 -
Well, that's it. 6 months and an absolute comedy of errors. The house sale has now fallen through. They have consistently forgotten to do things, lied to cover up mistakes, and ignored email after email.
Ultimately we're left about £2000 down and 4 weeks to find a new rental home.
I'm sure they have a high volume of sales that go through but honestly, if you go with these people you are taking a huge gamble.
They are totally incompetent. If there is the slightest element of the sale that might be considered out of the norm, you could be in serious trouble.0 -
The copy of the form I received via post was just a print out of what there's on their portal!!! Useless.
I just filed a letter to her supervisor. Posting via special delivery on Monday. Let's see if they come back to me. Also provided a copy of the email I sent a week ago and for which I never had a reply....0 -
I used them for sale and purchase that completed last month.
In fairness I think it largely depends on your case manager. We had leena shah and got say she was great.
We had problems too, with the buyers sols and actually doubt we would have completed when we did if it wasn't for her.
My advice to anyone would be to ask to get her assigned or, now I am aware of other people's experience, perhaps avoid.0 -
I had instructed PPL for the sale of my flat. In fact it was actually Countrywide who I agreed to through my estate agent but as my buyer also chose to go with Countrywide, I got bumped off to their sister company PPL.
My flat is shared ownership and after two weeks they'd done nothing except confirm they'd received the forms I'd completed. They'd done no draft contract, nor informed my estate agent that they were acting instead, nor had they contacted my housing association.
I contacted my housing association about something else and mentioned PPL. I was advised how bad they are, particularly bad at dealing with shared ownership. I was told how they simply don't know what to do, in the housing associations experience and it would end up costing me more time and money in the long run. My housing association know what they're talking about, and I've already wasted two weeks so I disinstructed PPL and have instructed new local solicitors who know how to deal with this.
I hope I'm right to have done this because its really upset my estate agent!0 -
Very unhappy with Premier Property Lawyers. Company held money to the management company for 3 weeks when it was supposed to be sent straight away. This has lead to significant delays and should not have happened. Communication was bad, kept saying they would phone back then didn't.
Would not use again... EVER...0 -
thing is with PPL's they are a massive company.. so asking for peoples experiences is a bit like askign what Mc Donalds is like...
In my experience Mc D's charge slightly different amounts - for slightly differently cooked products...one McD is great another is pants!
PPL.. have 'some good un's and some 'bad uns'.. over all they are cheap and cheerful - like Mc Donalds.. you get relativly cheap dubious quality - conveyencing..
My conveyence through PPL's only contacted me when there was progress... I had a good email relationship with my conveyencer.. although I'm pretty sure it was only 'him' half the time- he had 3 different emails - and had a less formal style when it was him.
Our sale was stratight foward (appart from the issues with our vendors solicitor going bust - and then the vendors vendors solicter going bust too!)... they got questions answered..although sometimes this was slow - and every one blamed everyone else.. .
House buying is tense.. I've done it 3 times now - I used 2 'bricks andmortor soliciters and PPL's once... All 3 times - the same level fo work was carried out - each time the process took longer.. this time it was 17 weeks - but 8 of those were due to the vendor only wanting to move on a set date..0 -
DO NOT USE PREMIER PROPERTY LAWYERS!!!!
I chose premier property lawyers after my sister recommended them. Our experience has been a frustrating, dishonest nightmare.0 -
these lot are possibly the most incompetent company I have ever dealt with in my life........
I think I would have more trust in Rolf Harris to look after a class of kids than have these lot sell my house!0 -
Premier Property Lawyers are the same as 1st Property Lawyers!
(CaseRef: 289212) I got roped into using this online company because of the promise of late working hours and availability on Saturdays. In addition, my mortgage adviser, London & Country, also referred them. The truth was quite different though - forget late working hours or weekends, the conveyancer is usually incredibly hard to get hold of even during weekday normal working hours over phone, or through e-mail. Keep e-mailing them or leaving voicemail messages, and they call back at only when they fancy. You constantly need to chase them up for them to make any progress in the case, which is a pain when it is so hard to reach them in the first place. During a month and a half of my purchase, they changed my conveyancer thrice - thus introducing more lack of continuity into the equation. Also, to most of my questions (which were as straightforward as reading the title deed and explaining to me what the covenants meant in plain English), their response was that I needed a legal specialist to address that question! News-flash: I did pay these idiots to act in my best interest as my lawyers! My opinion is that with all this project micro-management and lack of any legal expertise, I could have carried the process out myself without having to pay anyone to carry out unintelligent, merely administrative tasks.0
