  • i can't even begin to tell you the nightmare we had with these people. House network were great but when they introduced us to Premierpropertylawyers that's where the trouble started. To start they got my gender wrong. That went in for several weeks. Then they got my ex wife and new wife mixed up and despite being told time and time again, continued to get the names mixed up on all the paperwork. Then I noticed the names of my buyers were wrong. Then they scrapped my case and started a new one to sort the mistakes. Then as a a result they lost all the paperwork I had got signed and sent in via recorded mail. Had to do all the paperwork twice and some of it three times. I sacked them for my purchase and used a local solicitor.
My local solicitor saw the bill PPL gave me and didn't know what several items of billing was for and some of it was not chargeable but PPL charge it anyway.
And so to the last. We completed on Friday 7th Nov 2014 and despite my bank telling PPL the early repayment charge was not needed as I was porting the mortgage on numerous occasions, they paid it anyway, leaving me short for the fees.
Never has such incompetence been so prevalent. They were utterly useless.
Oh and one more thing, House Network charge an introduction fee of £99 plus VAT. A bit like paying a fee to meet your own assassin!
Had I known it was an introduction fee, I would Never have used them. In the end they worked out more expensive than a local solicitor and were rubbish.
My brother is currently using them for his house and they have just told him they have lost his paperwork....at least they're consistent!
  • I would seriously stay away from using them totally useless. We nearly lost the house because of them
    they overcharged me £250
All my contracts and most of paperwork was incorrect
Rude, attention to detail was a joke
    unprofessional.
Never answer the phone or return emails I felt like I did the job myself in the end
Use a solicitor as these people don't know there job.

We have used them 4 times now.

We had 2 btl flats that we sold in 2012 and 2013 used ppl both times. The flat we sold in 2012 only took 6 weeks from start to finish with no hiccups .The flat we sold in 2013 took 8 weeks from start to finish again with no hiccups.

We then used them to sell our house last year, to the vendors from hell who made problems continually, eventually they pulled out, we decided not to sell and ppl didn't,t charge us.

We have used them again this time, I find them very quick every time I emailed them they replied within the hour.My designated solicitor rang me twice a week to tell me of progress. Even though I can check progress on line. And the price they quoted me is the price we have paid , we complete on Monday.

    I would recommend them 100%.
  • After a prolonged conveyancing process (due to another part of the chain) our sale was concluded today. As we had moved into a rented property all that needed to happen was for our money to transfer into our account. PPL transferred the money at lunch time but ommitted to provide the correct reference for the building society. As a result it was declined and returned. We have spent all day trying to get PPL to resolve the problem but to no avail and have been toldit can not be sorted until Monday. They are not answering telephone calls. At this point we have no money and no property.we are extremely frustrated and sick with worry.
Our building society tell us it would have been returned in 45 mins and PPL would have known about it and could have resolved the problem this afternoon but did not. At one point they said they had not got the money. They then stopped returning calls.
we paid an additional 46.00 for CHAPS which is supposed to guarantee transfer in 2 hours
this company was recommended by our estate agent D B Roberts in Telford
once this is resolved we will be making a formal complaint and seeking compensation
a combination of sheer incompetence and appalling customer care
  • oh no I am really worried now...

Have via L&C signed up with them today, due to the local solicitors I wanted to use not being on the panel for my mortgage company.

The local sols I wanted to use had quoted £679 (inc all searches) whereas PPL have quoted me £1145 (plus all the extras in teh small print)

Having already had a delay since my offer was accepted due to mortgage issues I didnt want to waste more time trying to find a new solicitor myself so went with the L&C recommendation..

Am now regretting it reading this thread. My low offer was accepted on the basis that I was able to move quickly, except there has now been a !!!! up with the mortgage and now today the news with the solicitor

I hope I dont lose the house because of them :(
  • I'm not one to usually write reviews of any sort, but I've made an exception in this case.

To put it simply; Premier Property Lawyers are totally useless and how they are even in business is somewhat of a miracle.

Myself and my partner are first time buyers and have purchased a house that has no chain- this should surely pretty easy to manage, but no. In fact, we're almost into our 4th month of waiting for something to happen.

The best part is, PPL aren't even our solicitors, they are our sellers- an elderly single lady who clearly is getting no assistance from them whatsoever. We know this as we have had frantic phone calls from our estate agent saying that she has been considering pulling out of this deal because, well, basically she is finding it easier to get sh*t out a rocking horse than getting her sols to even answer the phone.

The main issue for us has been getting a correct response out of them, if we get a response at all. Following our survey, it came back that a gas safe certificate and an electric safe certificate would need to be seen to confirm the building is, well, safe. This is practically what every survey in the world comes back with if you get a good one. Somehow that went back to our seller as we wanted her knowledge on how the gas fire and electricity box was fitted and an explanation to issues in the roof that didn't exist. As it stands we're still actually waiting for a response as to whether these enquiries have even been rectified, when our survey was in the beginning of December 2014.

So being one who has experienced PPL from the other side of the fence, please please please for sanity's sake of both yourselves and your potential sellers/buyers... DO NOT USE PPL!:mad::mad:

I ended up using PPL for my house purchase and sale, and couldn't have been happier with the service I received. I had 1 contact throughout the entire process, she was always reachable by phone and responded promptly by email. She gave me excellent advice and I would use her again for my next sale and purchase without hesitation.

PPL are a very large company, so I think there's always a chance you could end up with a good or bad solicitor. Looks like I got lucky.
  • AVOID USING Premier Property Lawyers as we found them to be totally unprofessional. We changed to another solicitor after 4 months of terrible service. Contacted the ombudsman who advised us to write with complaint. We wrote to PPL's Client Services Manager whose reply was very uncaring and dismissive.
    The procedure in this letter was for us if not happy with the outcome to contact their CEO Mr Rob Gurney, which we did and included some of the posts from this forum to show we were not the only unhappy clients. Mr Gurney did not even acknowledge our email! If he does not care, why should his staff. All this grief for a £198 + vat introductory fee charged by Housenetwork Estate Agents which we were told was a deposit. :-{
  • Worst organisation I have ever come across.

Do not read letters, ignore instructions, a nighmare.

The whole process took 5 months instead of the usual 2!
  • I have recently used Premier Property Lawyers, as strongly forced by my estate agents.

They sent all documents over internet and you may not be able to speak to your conveyancer , every time i tried someone picks up to take message offering call return. But i hardly receied any call from them.

The guys who picks up the phone are just reading some summary notes which doesnt give much information.

I have given them dates for exchange and my holidays, but after 6 weeks they only came back with an email of a proposed day before exchange seeking deposit money !!!! Then another date has been agreed which was during my holiday and i asked them to confirm and nothing was outstanding from me, however, on the day of exchange about lunch time they contacted me (while i am thousands of miles away on roaming) want a copy of my building insurance !!!!. Then stressed myself and making many international phone calls etc. i managed to get a copy to them for exhange. After exchange there was another 10 days for completion, so usually i rang them, emailed to see if anything outstading , finances were in place etc. As i have paid everything at that point based on their financial statement. (bear in mind my searches were finished two months ago now ), on the day of completion lunch time they asking me need another £135.00 for completion as due from search fees !!!..

Verdict: they are not reall professionals or not able to handle anything professionally, cant seems to have much detailed knowledge of property issues other than using standard templates from internet/elsewhere.

Not able to reach them, and they dont respont to your queries in details

will not give you any idea what so ever of progress of case.

Will be very expensive at the end of process, as they say all quotes are estimates and final charges may be 'very different'.

Its a month now, they havent got my title registered yet !!!

    DONT USE PREMIER PROPERTY LAWYERS.
