Anyone used Premier Property Lawyers?

After a nightmare last time around we decided to use the solicitors our estate agent goes with (Your Move) who are premier property lawyers. When we went on the market they sent us through an incorrect quote, and the estate agent said he'd call. We heard nothing. I keep getting calls from them asking why we haven't sent the form back with the details, and keep telling them we haven't had the quote, and they say they will get someone to call us back and never do. We are going to call them again, but I wondered if anyone else had used them and would recommend or not.
I think that if they can't manage to send a revised quote through then it is very unlikely we will get a stress-free bit of conveyancing about of them, but wondered what you lot thought!

I would agree. Have you tried asking for local recommendations from friends and family.

We have a quote from a local firm, but quote was half as much again as the Premier Property Lawyers people, but I suppose that is worth it if they do a good job without the stress

They sound a little like another firm 'Title Transfer Property Lawyers'. They're just a firm of faceless internet based conveyancers who I am not confident will give you the service you deserve - just because they'll do it 'on the cheap'.
They made a right 'town halls' of a friend's property sale - they didn't even fill out the transfer forms correctly.........

Any one else heard of them? My husband is determined to use them but I still think it is a bad idea!
  • Yes, we used premier property lawyers last year when we bought and sold a house. We were referred to them from the tesco website.

I have to say we were VERY impressed with them!!

Our estate agents thought we were crazy, and cheap skates for using them rather than a local solicitor, but I thought they were excellent, and a much better service than the local based solicitor we used on a previous move.

I thought they were good because although you have a dedicated case handler, they always keep your case updated so that when they are not around, anyone else there can pick it up and tell you exactly what the status is, as well as enabling you to check yourself on the internet, outside of office hours which was useful. They are also available much later in the day than a standard high street solicitor, which is always useful!

At each significant stage in the buying and selling process we were notified promptly by text message as well as a phone call so we were constantly kept up to date. They were always accessible and helpful which is what you want from a conveyancer. Personally I would not hesitate to use them again!

I can't help being an old skeptic. I notice you joined MSE the same day you made your one and only post, which happens to be a glowing report of PPP. Can you assure me you had absolutely no vested interest here please. I have just been sent our initial forms from them, and they seem to be screwing up rather badly before we are even signed up to them ... definitely rethinking.

We still haven't completed on our buying / selling but have so far had no problems with premier property lawyers. They call and text to let us know what's going on, and seem to get back to us when I ask questions. It turned out our estate agent had fibbed about the 'all in' price for them, so they aren't as far under all the other quotes as I originally thought.

Many thanks. Would you say then, that after your initial worries, they've turned out OK so far? I appreciate you are still in the midst of the conveyancing, but no real headaches (of their making) to date? And yes, estate agents do tend to conveniently leave quite a few bits and pieces out of their quotes. I think their prices are pretty much on an a par with many others - I think if anyone was going for "cheap skate" prices it would be for something much lower.

Yes, I'd say no problems so far and much easier to contact to find out what they are doing than the solicitors firm we bought through last time, who often just ignored our calls or didn't answer the phone!
