Still no sign of mine. No idea what to put on it either, hubby now has a second part time job with variable wages (carer) so I've no blinking idea what he will earn this year.

Stick a pin in the calculator and see what number come out I guess

Recieved mine last week, although i cant fill it in till dp gets his accounts back from the accountant, (hes self employed). I know i can tick the estimate box next to the earnings part, but it just seems easier to wait intil we get the exact figure. Ive got until august to send it back.

Just received our renewal pack this morning, but I am slightly concerned. They are asking for income figures for 2005/2006 tax year, and in that year OH worked full time and I worked for a period of 5 months but am now a student (tax credit people know this). What is worrying me, is that they will base the 2006/2007 award on the 2005/2006 income, last we had £19,000 earned between the two of us, this tax year only OH is working so income only £16,000. Does anyone please know how the tax credit office pay you correctly based on this years income?
    Cheers, emilykat.

The initial 06/07 award wil be based on 2005/06, but as soon as you can ring then with this years lower income and they will adjust the awrad to take in to account your lower income.
I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.

I've just got mine and DH has got his P60 so I'm going to sit down this evening and fill it in.

One query though, as I worked in December 2004 they lowered our award by £100 per month last year, then DH took a job in August which lowered his income by 5K a year, I couldn't ring them with a lower figure as DH kept getting overtime and until he got his P60 this year I did not know exactly what he would have earned, if his earnings are lower than what they should be will we get any money backdated for the last year?

Yes it will be backdated, but does depend on whether the lower figure actually made any difference to your entitlement.

Entitlement for children runs until the 31 Aug after their 16th birthday.

You need to contact Tax Credits if they are staying on to Full Time Non Advanced Education (FTNAE), this will allow their entitlement to continue until they leave FTNAE (you need to contact HMRC again) or they turn 20 (in previous years the age limit was 19).
