    These calls are so annoying.

I was told to do 1 of two things, first find out who it is, if it is a cold caller just lay the phone down and let them rabbit on until they realise you are not listening OR my favourite one (and not everyone can do this as not all of you have a pet duck) Just put the phone on the floor next to the duck and let him quack into the handset like my pet duck does :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::D:D:D.

I had a call from this company twice - once on Friday past and one just y'day, however the number came up on my caller ID as unkown.

The call on Friday as soon as he said the company name I said I wasn't interested and put the phone down.

The other call I tried to explain that I wasn't interested and I had already told them but the poor guy didn't stop for breathe. I tried to keep 'butting' in to try and explain that we have little choice over energy suppliers where I live but to no avail.

I really have no idea what he was talking about but he didn't ask any question ie: to find out my suppliers etc. Like I said I kept trying to butt in but he finished the call with - thanks and goodbye and put the phone down on me:eek:.

These people usually ask if you're the homeowner. Tell them you're the tenant, they usually hang up then because they're not going to get a sale.

We've been plagued by calls from British Gas (two or three times a week). We usually let the answerphone take them but I accidentally answered the phone last week. I said we weren't interested in any special deals. Then they asked if there was anything else they could help with. I said they could stop phoning us because it was very annoying. Haven't heard a peep from them since then!

I see - so are they are working on behalf of NPower?
Or was the call from npower a coincidence?
we had calls regularly from these people, i tried all kinds of ways of getting them to stop. I asked which company they were working for, didnt respond, swore at them, answered their questions with a stupid answer. put the phone on top of the washing machine. In the end, i answered their questions with a maybe and they said i had successfully completed their questionnaire ! and an advisor would be ringing me. The day after someone from n power rang saying i had filled in a questionnaire, which i denied and told them that i was on the telephone preference service. I havent heard from them since.

I need to find out who they represent - that is obvious.
Does anyone know who Energy Savers are calling from? Is it NPower?
I cant complain if I cant trace them I suppose.
I had my 3rd phone call from them yesterday, I told them I was registered with TPS, and his reply was everyone is. I repeated I am registered with TPS and I should not be receiving phonecalls from them and his reply was the same.

When I asked for the company details, he would not give me any, he just stated the call was from enery savers. I asked for a address then they put the phone down on me.

I will look later to see if I can find out anything else about them

A whistle is an answer, alot of the auto dialers assume if they get a whistle on the line its a fax line.

Caller display is worth every penny, we don't answer any calls we don't know (unless we are taking the mick as above-told someone in an indian call centre I wasn't in need of debt help as I had just won who wants to be a millionaire, don't think he got the reference tho lol).

Yes - that was the number that was given when we dialed 1471 -
It does not make any sense as a number really.
I have called nPOWER to ask them if they use these people directly or indirectly.
They are now looking at it - it might not be anything to do with them - but one previous thread mentioned it could be as they had a follow up call from NPower after similar calls from Energy Savers.
It is very hard to know what to do when it is a non UK based call centre who are disguising themselves.

I see - so we are not alone with this.
Did you manage to trace the phone number at all?
I am intrigued by what 'mothershipton' said - which seems a coincidence - do you think?
Is there anything else I should do
