Hello
I too have been a victim of this website. I was trying to view my credit report for free and I found out today I have been charged £19.95.
Yes I understand the fact I did disclose my bank ac details but the website pointed out they needed this info in order to locate my report. My financial advisor advised me to view it as I am trying to get a mortgage and says this is normal and the details are needed - and as long as I don't give permission for them to remove funds they can't. Hummmmmm.....
I phoned them today and spoke to a unhelpful individual who pointed out I had signed up and it is a 'opt out system' they referred to a e mail I had received and accepted? I had NEVER received a e mail and if I had I would never of consented to it.
I still await a e mail stating my ac is closed????
After contacting my bank it became clear I was fighting a losing battle. I have been advised to write to them. The call centre staff clearly don't have line managers or managers!! Most irritating and extreme bad attitudes!
It must be great to achieve job satisfaction every day!!!!!!!!
STAY WELL CLEAR OF THIS SITE:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:0 -
I dont get why people flame the company/bank
You signed up to something and didnt read the terms and conditions.
FAR FAR too many people do this and just "think " its ok.
From what I have seen in our disputes department most people that have signed up for the pymnt once you contact the company they dont really have an issue to refund anyone.
Read the small print, they aint asking for a credit card number for nothing.
Most if not ALL trials will go onto a recurring billing - key note if they are asking for a credit card number, 99 times out of 100 if you dont cancel within said period your agreeing to their service wether you like it or not

You've lost the money - Don't lose the lesson.:(
I think you answered the wrong postWow, I got 3 *, when did that happen :j:T:p
It is not illegal to open another persons mail unless you intend to commit fraud - this is frequently incorrectly posted
I live in my head - I find it's safer there:p

I too have fallen victim to this.
I saw my card had been deducted and have cancelled my card. However, I've just gone back into both Equifax & Credit Expert - posing as a new customer - and nowhere does it state money will be deducted before the 30 day trial is over. Indeed, both sites state that money will be deducted after the 30 day trial is over. How can we then be guilty of being gullible?
I have sent emails to both Equifax & Credit Expert, and fully expect to get a refund from my bank. I suggest all who have been scammed do the same.0 -
I noticed last month i had 19.95 taken from my bank from rewards now.Thought it was something I had forgotton. Noticed today i had the same and knew I hadnt used card today.
Going into bank tomorrow to cancel it. Hope I can without having to cancel card.
I got a free report , then cancelled right away when I seen the price, got email saying I had cancelled.
thieving B*******. :mad:0 -
I sent demand after demand via email (why should I pay to call them?!) asking:
The date I became a member
My actual request to become a member
The ip address of the computer used to make the request
After deliberately misunderstanding my request and fob me off, I've just received an email stating they will refund my money.
Persevere, and you'll get there.:beer:0 -
