This is the 21st century not the 1950s, why shouldn't a woman be able to ask a man out?... the other points are just plain common sense, but not this one

[QUOTE=kpey;23545077]Financegirl - love that someone else recommended the same book I did. Really think the OP should get this! Have you read the other book? Looking from a man's perspective is very eye opening isn't it?QUOTE]

I saw the film with my girlfriend, cringed all the way home, then dumped someone - who guess what - Just wasn't that into me!!

He never wanted to go anywhere, just have sex at home, have me run around after him, let down dates, wouldn't call when he said he would, was mean with money, yet telling me he couldn't live without me:rotfl:

Anyway from now on I will never

    1) Go out on a date with someone who hasn't asked me first - if he's into me, he will ask me out.

    2) Go out again with someone who thinks it's ok to split the bill on the first date (b4 u lot start jumping out of your prams, it's not about the money, it's the issue of respect. I don't care if we go for a coffee and cake, it's the fact that he thinks I'm worth putting his hands in his pocket)

    3) Not see someone who is too busy to call me, because he's had such a busy day, I just couldn't pick up the phone, text u, bullsh1T. If he can't honour what he says in the beginning and doesn't think enough of me to honour his word, lord there's no hope for the future.

    4) Wants to keep hanging out and have all the benefits of a gf, while keeping the door open for other options- I'm not your drinking buddy!

    5) Doesn't introduce to me things in his life, friends, flat, hobbies - I'm not a prostitute!!

    6) Roll over and fall asleep after sex without a long cuddle!! (I made that last one up actually)

    Right, rant over....

Oh dear!:rotfl:I am fitting quite nicely in to some of the categories especially 3 and 6 and I'm female.
It wasn't my life goal to get married and have children either (that desire came mostly from my ex husband) - not that I don't love em now their here :)
That said that I'm not sure I've ever been in a weird dating limbo or afraid to be alone so perhaps no need to worry!?

    I am rambling now! :rotfl:

because if you really liked her joey, you would ask her out - simple.

You'd think this one, is so hot, I don't want anyone else to get her.

also, men don't really value things they haven't worked for - according to the book and I agree.

    So much for equality!

Not quite sure what you mean by the last statement, but I know plenty of men who ask out everything in sight... thats not exactly working for something, let alone valuing it

financegirl, since we're talking cliches... here's one for you:-

The only apples that fall at your feet are the rotten ones, you have to reach out for the best ones

re: last statement - i mean if a woman chases a man, and asks him out and makes herself available to him by making that crucial first move, will he really in the long term, appreciate her and value her.

it's human nature that we appreciate and value something we have chased and worked for - we then feel pleased that we have 'earnt out prize'.

I know ppl will be saying it's not fair, women should be allowed to ask out men etc - yep go for it, but men and women are different - most men have that competitive/hunter/cave man streak, which is why they love sports - it's a physical challenge for them.

Men like to chase - sorry but that's my view. This from book sums it up

Men, for the most part, like to pursue women. We (men) like not knowing if we can catch you. We feel rewarded when we do.

re: men that ask everything in sight are desperate and any smart woman will be aware of that.

I like that, very good xx

But my dear the only apples that I eat are the beautiful, ripe ones.

I leave the rotten ones on the floor my by my feet where they belong..
