The alternative is to buy from WHSmith or somewhere similar when you get airside. I'd not buy any drinks (excpet a G&T :D) on the plane.

Will give him 100ml of squash to take through in a 100ml bottle and buy water to mix it with once through security.
You've got me thinking though, DH and I may take a couple of 100ml of gin and just order tonic on the plane

For just a few pounds i wouldnt bother. Its an offence to drink your own alcohol onboard ( only alcohol bought onboard is allowed) you do want to come back from your holiday so id stick to only to bringing just soft drinks with you ;)

Bear in mind, if you have to change flights at another airport, you will have to go through security again - we saw people in Singapore having bottles of spirits which they'd bought duty free having them confiscated when they transferred flights! (Presumably because they had been bought duty free at airports other than Changi)

Boots were/are doing 2 bottles of coke for £1.60 which is cheap as chips for an airport, for example in our baggage hall 1 bottle is £1.50

How much does he normally drink in that timescale? I'd get two drinks from boots when you are through security.

Another one for Boots. As you're not having a meal on teh plane either the meal deals are great value and they don't charge any more than your local Boots.

I have never heard of this being a law, though it may be the airline's condition of carriage, do you have a link please - I am genuinely interested and not nit picking :think:

Oh I don't think we'd take very long to polish off 200ml of gin between us ha ha! :o
