Getting there very slowly with the rooms, DS1 is very good and we have managed to emulsion everywhere and as he is nearly 16 the painted rockets and stars had to go :rotfl: Its looking good and top gear posters are going up as we speak!!
DD is another story and far to long to go into. DS2 will be next on the hit list!!
Sorted out shopping and banking, de-flea'd the dog and wormed her, she was looking a bit bedraggled so that should sort her out for a couple of months, have more washing to do now as DD only did the bare minimum whilst I was out! Right most outdoor jobs done (the sun is shining today and its quite warm lovely). Neds stable is leaking big time where the roof sheets meet and weve had to bail out a few times as weve had such heavy rain the past few nights, no option but to put him in but one side of the stable has been up to my ankles, luckily he can stand on the dry side as its quite a big space. Job for today is to flashband down the centre of the sheets to stop the rain coming in. Best done as the weather is good for the next couple of days.
Shant be decorating today as sun is shining and want to make the most of the dry weather for outdoor jobs.
Work is busy for DH we have been really busy and late nights to get everything done so hopefully the weekend will be a bit quieter . Enjoy the sunshine peeps.Visa £[STRIKE]5063 [/STRIKE]now 0. morning Turfy
nice to see a bit of sunshine:) Gives us all something to talk about.
You are doing well getting rooms painted. Great craic!!
We got the garden and yard tidied up over the week. YS so glad to put the mower away to hibernate for the winter:) I'm getting a bit of joinery done in my home over the weekend and it will be nice to get it sorted.
Hope you get Ned sorted . The rain has been incredible hasn't it.
Delighted to hear that your DH has got lots of work on. What about yourself, any more child-minding on the horizon. Hard work though isn't it.
Turfy enjoy the good weather
Take care

Hi ebay queen, yep the rain has been horrendous the past few days but a glorious day here today. No I have no more childminding on the horizon but am kept busy helping DH books etc and general dogsbody for anything sign related :rotfl: To be honest Im not missing the childminding as it can be so demanding and as my own kids are at teenage years and one just 10 looking after smallies is difficult especially when you need to give more time to your own with homework etc and running them around, so Im glad just to be mum for a while and looking after all the animals, which takes at least an hour a morning.
It must be nice to get some gardening done for you and the mower away for winter now. We were given a second hand mower this year but have no garden yet!!! Maybe next year eh, Im really hoping so anyway, but were still renovating when we get time.Visa £[STRIKE]5063 [/STRIKE]now 0. Loan 1 €[STRIKE]4885[/STRIKE] now 0. My wonderful teenagers had exceeded our internet allowance so hence I havent been able to access the internet for about a week!!!! God luv em, anyway they will be putting hands in bank accounts to make up for the excess which I dont even want to think about just now.
Weve also had no phone line for about 10 days this is an ongoing problem of living in the sticks and has been forever!! We are so far from the exchange and on a "leg" as they put it that the quality of line is really bad, so whenever we get any bad weather it either gets worse or just dies. Well this time I decided it can go and now that we have a decent internet connection I can skype mum and dad to their landline ( they are not computer literate) and he can skype his parents so everyone is happy and we mostly use mobiles anyway, so that will be around €40 saving per month, except we will have to look into upping the usage on the mobile broadband suppose swings and roundabouts come to mindVisa £[STRIKE]5063 [/STRIKE]now 0. Ah Turfy... kids we have to love them. Happened here too once and only once. It was eldest and it was £95 extra to be paid and he had to cough it up. He didn't do it again.
Same lad told me this morning to take a chill pillI was losing it when he thought that a litre of water was needed to be boiled for a cup of tea...cue me and a lecture.
its hard work keeping up with them but we would be bored without them. Hope you get your phone back on soon.
take care

Glad you got it sorted, Turfy - skype sounds amazing, I almost got into it a couple of years ago and somehow didn't. Might have to now, needs must and all that.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Its amazing what complaining can do. Eircom turned up and sorted out the phone (I have cancelled it anyway) the line was perfect for about a day!!!! Anyway the direct debit is cancelled and we wont be using it anymore. It costs about €40 a month and to be fair we hardly use it its mostly line rental and a couple of calls to the uk.
Skype seems the best option and saves us money too. Ive cancelled the sports on sky too to save a few bob, but its not actually gone off yet. Money is tight again as the car now needs shock absorbers (we knew that about 8 wks ago)and now something is wrong with the alternator (dreadful noise) so were using the old car up and down to the bus and the main car is going to the mechanice tomorrow dont know what it will cost yet but trying to be optimistic :rotfl:
Xmas cards are done and posted as there are quite a few to all parts of the uk so at least I feel something is done towards that.
Must get some baking done today. DH has cheered up a bit as work has been slow, car probs etc etc etc, last week was dreadful and he was talking about going away to work, which by the time you add up all the costs and sending money back and him having to live of course, doesnt really make sense, so hopefully Ive talked him out of that idea, not good for family life but i suppose needs must. Hopefully it wont come to that and we can continue to struggle on, sometimes you just get fed up of struggling.:(Visa £[STRIKE]5063 [/STRIKE]now 0. Loan 1 €[STRIKE]4885[/STRIKE] now 0.
