You're very welcome! When we're feeling so dark ourselves, we can't see at all - and I really know what that feels like, believe me. I'm glad you're seeing another mum tonight, that will help. Enjoy! I'm shutting down now to get a cuppa, and for the first time since I got ill a week ago, I'm going to try to sort out some paperwork. "I may be gone some time", as the saying goes :rotfl:

Hugs Turfy, for you and OH cos he's probably feeling he can't provide for his family.....or I could be talking out of my bottom (no change there) Why the sudden 'I want to live in Cornwall?' I'm presuming you aren't natives so what took you to Ireland in the first place? A while back you were doing some baking for a friend is there chance for you to do any more. ANy church mags you can advertise in. We do and get a some custom from those. Can he visit any other buildres to let them know hes available.

    Enjoy your coffee.

Thanks folks for the support and virtual hugs much appreciated. The cornwall thing is something he has always wanted to do he visits a mate there every year and just has it in his head IYKWIM, I understand he is a bit down but to be honest is hard work at the best of times. He can never make his mind up and is forever changing it, drives me nuts but I do love him and bite my tongue too often and then when I let fly it all comes out, I just feel a bit like nothing will ever make him happy and its so hard living like that. Lots of moaning about the economy and the house we live in being 8 miles from the village etc etc etc but we have been here 8 years now and me and the kids are settled. I think sometimes when he has too much time on his hands he goes into this depressing mode and its hard to shake off, Im more of a glass half full kind of girl.
Re the baking I do a fair bit for different people and have done since the childminding came to an end but that too is slow at the mo, Im sure it will pick up soon and work wise for him too just patience isnt his strong point:eek:

Hello, Turfy. I'm in Ireland, too (a blow-in from England). In our village there are a couple of ladies who bake once a week and sell scones and cakes at the village shop. Each cake sells for €4.70 (I think they are baked in a 1lb loaf tin, they weigh about 750-800g), individual queen cakes for 50c and scones for 75c. They take away about €50 each a week (the shop-keeper doesn't take a cut) and they get their ingredients in bulk from Lidl to keep the costs down, and use eggs from their own hens. The cake lady also takes special orders - nothing fancy, just porter cakes, lemon cakes, whatever the individual wants.
    "Green pastures are before me,
Which yet I have not seen;"
I'd love to be a good example - instead, I am a horrible warning.

Hi lucielle things arent too bad atm. Its been a very tough week and I think we may have just turned a corner, I love him dearly but he is so hard to live with sometimes. Anyway he has agreed to stop moaning so much and has accepted that I do not want to move at least until kids have finished their education so thats sort of where were at. Yesterday we got news that our grant application of 2 yrs ago to do the road to the cottage has been approved but we have to pay toward it which is going to be around €5000 its a very long road through a field and is full of potholes again which doesnt help the cars and Mr T has refused to put any more money into it (usually consists of loads of gravel at €200 a load), so at least its been approved, not sure where the money is going to come from yet  Work wise its been very quiet but is starting to pick up a bit and he has had some enquiries so fingers crossed, I have advertised to do a bit of cleaning too so lets see what happens, Ive felt better but must keep my glass half full.

Hi turfy - yep, that sounds like a bit of corner turning to me, good for you. The initiative that wordsmith mentioned is interesting too. Glass half full!
