Hi turfy! Well, downsizing meant that I could pay off my mortgage, and have enough left over to instal the 2nd toilet ... I didn't mean to downsize *quite* that far, as my mortgage was only small anyway, but thats what happened. Its a big relief, and I'm much nearer a community I can relate to now - hope you're getting out and about a little bit, and well done on the BC payment.

Thanks KC I think Im coming round to that way of thinking too. We only have a relatively small mortgage and with OH in the building trade anyway we could probably build for a very reasonable amount, lots of food for thought.

Things have calmed down a bit now, weather is lovely too frosty and sunny. We will defo think about testing the market later in the year, lots still to do, replastering the front and replacing the porch which is quite a big job that I really dont want doing in the cold weather  Moneywise I have talked him out of a loan for the shed (I hope) and were still on course to get rid of one loan and the cc this year so that will help loads. Kids wise all ok school xmas concert tonight (delayed due to bad weather at xmas) and they have disco tomorrow, hoping for an easier day today just me and the dog a nice walk and some jobs which WILL get done because we have the time, so hopefully a good day. Hope its nice where you are folks.

Came on for a moan really, things cant get a lot worse. Have been arguing loads lately. DH has no work just now and things are very quiet, I keep saying it will pick up but not sure how long it will take.
DH is quite depressed and hard work at the best of times but we had a big row today and he wants us all to up sticks and move to cornwall which he loves, not really my thing and the prospect of moving 2 teenagers and a 9 yr old etc etc etc is just so upsetting. Im feeling very teary and low today sorry to be on a downer but needed to vent.
Moneywise we are skint after a steering job needed doing on the car and we had a 40th birthday at the weekend, also DH has a rotten flu thing just to add to everything. Hopefully the week will improve, its also raining

All of us need to moan sometimes! I'm not sure how much lurking you do, as you don't seem to post anywhere else I've seen (except mine a few times :D) but cos of that, you might not realise that thats actually one of the prime reasons for the dfw board - to be able to have a good moan with people who understand!

You have more reason than most to vent, reading through that lot! Cuppa tea, home made hobnob, and some deep, calming breaths - with eyes closed, since its chucking it down :(

Longer term .... any chance of *different* employment, not more? I've no idea what the situation is right now in Ireland - I know Shaun managed to start his shop, but thats around Dublin, and you're obviously very rural. Any kind of business would have to be via the web ... Pippi on here is escalating her selling of mini-plugs of fruit and veg plants on ebay into a semi-business - her climate can't be better than yours, she lives in the Orkneys ...

Well, anyway, I'm thinking of you - I only came on here to pay back some of the support I've been given recently, with my 3rd bout of illness .... take care.

Thanks KC, I tend to stick with just a couple of threads as I find it hard to catch up. I like yours and Lucielle's and find I have enough time to read up with those, I dont post too much on my own thread, perhaps I will now, we have tried a sign business and t shirts also he gets some carpentry work but things are just really quiet, Im hoping things will improve maybe just a bad day after all, thanks again for your support you are a star hugs and I hope you are feeling a bit better now.

Thanks turfy - thats interesting! I get so much help because I post, you know - even now when mine isn't about debt so much, but about health and coping with establishing a new household for myself, and trying to start working on my second income stream. Is there anything on the businesses that you already have that you could be "stocking up" on? Learning new skills? There are so many ways to enliven T shirts! And from the sound of it, people never stop learning about carpentry .... same with signs..... if you're keeping with those businesses, then I'd say, use the quiet times to do marketing and learn new skills. I've found out recently that some people who sell on the web don't even have their own website, or rather thats only one string to their bow - they sell on facebook itself! T shirts would be a natural for that, I'd think .... If I had energy, honestly, the *stuff* I'd do :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Anyway, hope you have a nice evening. And I *really* hope you don't come down with that lurgy ....
