Havent been around much folks lately. Have most of the pressies sorted now and cards bar a couple have been sent (cost a fortune) nevermind. Just paid the car ins for the year (ouch) was expecting it though and it cant be paid d/d so have to make sure I have enough at this time of year. Everything else going ok, debt is going down barclaycard will be gone soon, hopefully get that gone in the new year, had hoped for christmas but with the funeral and the trip back to blighty to be paid for plus xmas it just didnt happen. Snow is back again and its pretty thick at the mo, Im meant to picking up DH in Cork later on and picking up a couple of things on the way home, not sure I'll even get the car down the track so fingers crossed. Hope everyone is keeping warm. hugs.

Well suffice today I didnt get the car down the track on Friday, and we have been snowed in ever since!! Schools are closed so at least I dont have that worry and we have enough supplies for a couple more days, I think. DH has just walked down the track and will get the car he left in the field on Friday night, he is meant to be working with a mate today but somehow I dont think its going to happen. He had to take tools down in the wheelbarrow, I know it sounds crazy but needs must and all that.
Water so far has been ok and we are warm which is all that matters, most santa things are sorted at this stage just food shopping to get, so hopefully we will get a thaw and manage that before Friday, fingers crossed still. Hope you are all ok and keeping warm.

Good grief - I'm glad all the utilities are still working, at any rate. I was saying to my sister the other day, I'm so glad I moved here - I have a freezer, so food isn't a problem, even veggies, which I now buy in kilo bags for the freezer. If it wasn't for that, I'd have been struggling a lot more.

I'm sure Santa will cut you some slack if you can't make it down the lane - stay safe!

Water finally packed in on Tuesday and is still off, really hoping for it to all thaw out today,(needing showers at this stage) pooh!!! Weve been getting water from our neighbour and boiling it so its not ideal and Im totally fed up with it now.
Had a lovely day yesterday and kids got what they wanted so all went well, had a lovely meal and just pigged out on the chocs so will pay the price for that very soon. Hope everyone had a lovely christmas and hope you are all warm and well.

Without water ..... awful! I hope your neighbour isn't too far either, I have images of you a couple of hundred yards away from your nearest ... mind you, it can happen anywhere. A cousin of mine who lives in a commuter town to Liverpool had her boiler break down a few days before Christmas, and the man who came out couldn't fix it, so her neighbour kindly lent her 3 electric fires to help heat the place for Christmas. Together with the cooking and everything else that was going on, that overloaded the electrics, so now they don't have electricity either! Life isn't always a bowl of cherries, sometimes its a block of ice cubes!

Water finally came back on the 27th so I have been busy washing floors, clothes and practically anything that moves. Our neighbour was great and although we still had to thaw out his outdoor tap it kept us going, kids thought it was a great adventure taking the sledge down and bringing it back with the water bottles. Ive had to use the tumble drier the last two days with catching up with the washing and boy its annoying as it costs so much.
Took DH to a charity darts comp today and then got a few more supplies in, felt pretty wacked after doing the bank and the shopping and against all my better judgement bought frozen pizza for tea, amazing after all this moneysaving it makes you feel really guilty when you spend a tenner on just bits for tea.:rotfl:
Im off to warm my toes by the stove before my taxi skills are needed!

Morning Turfy, so pleased you've got water. DS2s friend came to play yesterday and they've no water. He had a shower before he went homr.
