maz I'm glad you feel a bit better. So sorry about your scary day yesterday
ps the girl I made the skirt for has chicken pox. Would you guys still take fergie to the party? Lots of people seem to think it's good to have it when they're quite little cos they're not coordinated enough to scratch the heads off the blisters. Sparkle, what do you think after Lexi's experience
Maz, that's a bit of parenting I'm not looking forward to, and judging by everyone's responses it's pretty common! Glad it turned out OK.
Weezl, I vaguely thought I remembered there was a 'good age range' to get chickenpox in - not too too young, but under a certain age. Fergie is pretty young still, is there a risk? I never had chickenpox, I continue in deep fear of Elijah eventually catching it
On a tangent from ruffles, how early did people notice "gender differences" coming through? Since 4-5 months or so, Elijah has done what we call "typical boy" things around poking-and-destroying - along the lines of finding an object (or a person), patting it and poking it gently a few times, then BEATING IT WITH ALL HIS MIGHT GLEEFULLY. Do baby girls do this?!
(I commend the song "Poke and Destroy" by the Presidents of the USA to anyone into such things - the lyrics are very accurate! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y5sQqzLGOnA)
ETA - another terrible night, whether it be cold or teething or both I dunno, but up and needing settling at 1, 4, 5 and 6. He got a BF at 5 but it didn't convince him to stay settled. Each time he wakes he gets to a sitting position and sits there chewing his fingers and moaning/wailing, it's very pathetic!0 -
I bought a pair of BabyBanz from amazon, they have some colours down to around 7 quid, others up to 12. He wore them for a bit then learned how to get them off easily and always preferred to chew them instead, so they're relegated for now. He looked very cute in them though, I recommend them for style points on sunny days

Nothing closet about it thankyouThey're one of about 3 bands ever I have seen live, I am a fan. Although actually Peaches is not really a great song compared to most of their other stuff in my opinion. It's ok. Love Delicatessen, Tiki Lounge God, or Poke and Destroy might top my list maybe. And their cover of Video Killed a Radio Star obviously

Ok scruffy, no more pics I promise
But I love seeing them
I love the needle cord skirt
What else shall I make? I'd love a pair of dungarees for the LO!
I'd love to sort some things out for christmas. 2 of my friends have 4 yr olds who help them in the kitchen. Do you think matching mummy and daughter aprons is a good idea?
:T:T:T Yes - I can't wait until my LO is old enough to 'help'scruffy96uk wrote: »Another nice idea is a wooden spoon drill a hole in the end tie a piece of ribbon through one saying mummys the other saying childs name to match the aprons
What a brilliant idea :jr.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -

guess what?!!!
I learnt to make ruffles last night!
I really need to have a girl baby. Ruffles on fergie is just cruel!

You could adopt my little girl weezl
Well LO having her morning nap and hubby at the gym. I'm lounging on the couch with my mse friends;)
My Stokke highchair arrived and is brilliant - LO loves it so a huge hit all round. A big recommendation and thumbs up here. We ended up shopping yesterday afternoon. Most of it was very boring things like the asda promotion of 2 big boxes of nappies for £18 blah, blah, blah. However, I did get the most gorgeous pair of shoes so I am now officially a Yummy Mummy
The day was rounded off very well with a girls night in - 5 friends, a case of champagne (left over from one of the girls wedding so very mse) and a take away. and DH did the night waking which happened for the first time in 4 nights :j
Plus, I think I've convinced DH that we shouldn't take LO with us to our friends wedidng at the end of next month - so looks like we are getitng a grown up weekend away:T:T:eek:
congreats to skinty - can anyone update us on the basic details?r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
