I actually have a skydiving instructor in the family (extended family) and have had loads of offers to do jumps etc... My view on skydiving is that I see absolutely NO rational explanation for prematurely exiting a perfectly servicable aircraft... if it was going to crash and burn I'd be pushing people out the way to get out, but so long as it's in good nick and there is no reason to suspect it won't make the landing... I ain't jumping!!!!!
Same with bungeejumping... I have no desire to launch myself of a solid surface where I am perfectly safe, attached to nothing more than a glorified knicker elastic... But if someone wants to let me loose in a Rally car... Now THEN I'm ya gal! Or if I got a bit fitter and lost some serious weight... I might consider going to a local stable about 15 mins from here and seeing if I could start riding out with the morning strings... nothing like a freezing fresh morning, precariously perched on the back of a 2 or 3 year old half tonne of horsemeat that wants nothing more than to launch off at silly speeds because another horse is in front...

Thanks sami... It's hard to try and explain it really... It's odd because with soem things I'm a risk taker... I mean for goodness sake I used to race 4x4's off road for a hobby! I always pick the most insane horses, I would think nothing of hopping on the back of one of my uncles race horses and used to ride out on his stallion before he was retired, knowing there were mares in season less than a mile away...
It's hard to explain how your mind works isn't it?
I guess it's just that SOME things I refuse to budge on and I guess I've become so tunnel visioned about certain things that I unintentially have got to a point where I can't even understand another point of view
Is this how people who are racist and homophobic get so stuck in their views?
Maybe we need a new term for it?
Oh dear... the more I think about it the more things I want to add to my list of things I can't understadn people would do... I better go away before I REALLY upset someone LOLall sounds right to me!
I know some people don't understand how I could not have certain tests and eat the 'forbiden' foods while pregnant or even have a homebirth.
I can't comprehend why people think a good night out is to get so drunk you don't remember what you did.

Morning all
Wow, what's with all the sex talk......not like you lot;)
Me and Dh are having plenty but, now this may sound weird! I seem to have lost my 'O' (think Samantha from Sex and the City) anyway I am trying not to dwell on it, just hope it comes back at some point:(
Kai is fast asleep on the sofa. He seems to never want his milk at lunch timeI have tried giving it him before food, after food and in the middle...he just spits it out, yet will gobble up any food I send his way! He is fine with every other bottle/feeding time. He is a bit young to not have one though, especially as he only has 4 bottles a day as it is and he should be having 5 apparantly!

OMG - This child never sleeps in the day.
I know I shouldn't complain because he is a good night-time sleeper but surely he should have one nap of at least an hour or so in the afternoon!!!!!Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,

Mine is just a box of memories (hospital tags etc) and a letter that I may or may not add to as Benjamin grows
See how I need to have a girl - if Benjamin is anything like my stepsons (the older 2) the he will be more bothered about what is going on there and then than what his soppy old mum thought 18 years ago

I'm really conscious about this and try to do everything the same although I'm pretty sure Poppy has millions more pictures taken of her.

The boys went to school in crumpled shirts/polo t-shirts today because I couldn't be bothered to iron them. Oh well second to last day of school, I doubt anyone will care:DUnless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,

Bruno - is there some middle ground where your mom visiting gives your wife some time to herself. So one saturday afternoon your mom visits with you and Elijah and wifey goes to have her hair done / for a coffee with friends / clothes shopping etc.
I don't mean this in a 'sneaking mom in whilst wifey is out' kinda way but as an up-front mom arrives, all have a coffee, wifey goes out and leaves you lot together type way.
I am not sure I am making any sense but if your wife accepts that your mom should have a relationship with Elijah there are ways of going about it which don't involve them sitting together all afternoon IYSWIM.
Would she let your mom sit whilst you went out for a meal or something?
Thanks MFD, we've had just such a setup once or twice, but now when I've suggested it OH is in too much of a funk about missing California/etc to think it's reasonable. I suggested arranging a Friday, I'd work from home and she could go out and never even see her, etc. We've arranged a visit for next Tue afternoon now, hopefully all goes well and we can get back on track a bit.My_Fathers_Daughter wrote: »:T:T:T:T
What she said
I have no idea what my plan was when I pressed multiquote on this, or what it was aboutso I'll just talk about sex
During pregnancy was not an issue
After the birth, OH was both very down and had been fairly heavily stitched, so there was pretty much minimal interest her end, and then even as that changed she was really scared about the state of things down there, so initially there was a fair bit of with-blessing taking matters into my own hands (I am sorrythere is really no good euphemism), then in later weeks some of what I think Home Ec classes used to call 'non-penetrative methods of intercourse', which was all good.
Maybe I am unusual in being left pretty content by all that? But I dunno. It wasn't a big stress after the first couple of weeks.
We eventually had a go at 2 months, but that was a one-off for about another 2/3 months after a certain amount of *ahem* deflowering  which she found quite unnerving. Everything back to normal now though and just fine.
I'm blushing now, I run away!
But I did mean to add, MrsT you have nothing to feel defensive about, gosh! Perfectly reasonable position to take.0 -
