  • Morning all.

Hope you all had a good day yesterday - no idea what page we were on when I left, but it was definitely miles away before all that sex chat ;). Which of you started that off?!!

Had a lovely day yesterday. Izzy had a fab time playing with her Uncle, and thought his daft hat was brilliant (He graduated with his phd yesterday - my baby brother is now a doctor ). Got home late last night, and Izzy woke up when we brought her in, so I didn't get to bed till gone midnight. Took DH to work this morning then we both went back to sleep for an hour and a half. Ages since I've managed a nap that long, but I feel loads better for it. Unfortunately it means that I've not done ANYTHING, and we are meant to be going out in half an hour, so lunch for both of us will be from the a la cart menu at boots ;) Best get some washing in the machine, and think about getting gone. Talk to you all later.

nah I noticed Liv has a scouse twang but you didn't. Do we all have Mum's like mine that are obsessed with correct pronunciation?
in case anyone is miffed at what a non-accent is it's what my proper wiganer friends call posh but not plummy - you'll never hear me say 'oh yarr' or 'jolly hockey sticks' ;) :rotfl:
My mum was always particular about pronunciation so although I'm obviously from the north I don't have a particularly localised accent (and even less so now I've been in Durham for 11 years). When I was at school people used to accuse me of talking "posh" but then when I went to university people would look down on me because they considered a northern accent to be working class and they thought my accent (and localised vocubulary I used) was a reflection of (lack of) intelligence.

Even if I take the labour and pregnancy out of the considerations though I know we'd struggle financially and mentally with 2 very young children despite good incomes. It would mean I would probably have to leave work for a while at least and the only way to live on DHs income only would be some very significant cutbacks... My car would have to go, We'd probably have to move to a cheaper area which is not something we'd be willing to do in all honesty... we both have very specific views on what kind of environment we want to bring our children up in and a village setting or village feel area of a smaller town would be the only option for us, neither of us would be willing to negotiate on that, if I stayed home we'd loose my income but not gain any support like WTC etc as Dh is earning "too much" (HA!) for us to qualify.
I know we do want a second child, but I guess (and I'm totally ignoring my reservations about pregnancy and labour here :)) I want time to enjoy my beautiful baby girl first, build more security for all of us and then plan it like this time... With a little luck we'll also be near on debt free by the time we even get close to thinking about number 2 :)
Whilst we've been wittling away at our debts then we both still have them and I'd like them totally gone before we think about expanding again :) It's doable!

But my reasons for not wanting another yet are obviously personal to me :) I just don't understand people knowingly taking the risk? Maybe it's just that I plan things to death - Roo was planned (even if she surprised us with how quickly we fell pregnant with her! I never thought it would be that quick!) - I spent 18 months planning my wedding - I plan for a living and I suppose I must be somewhat of a control freak :) But falling pregnant by "accident" is just something I struggle with understanding... how can you NOT plan the single most important thing you'll ever do? :) Or plan and control NOT doing it till you're ready if you IYKWIM...

I appreciate that others are more "happy go lucky" - not saying there is anything wrong with that, just that like Sami being OC about germs, I'm OC about control and planning and I can't get my head round others not being the same... *sigh* darned it... it's so hard to explain!

I'm ok with my older two. DS still wears what he's told - but thats a result of his Autism, not my fantastic parenting skills! I was looking at school stuff in Asda for them, and noticed the black pumps for PE only go up to a size 13. Obviously 'normal' 12 year old boys with huge size 5 feet wouldn't been seen dead in them - so they don't sell them!

I bought some white school pumps in a size 7 from Next last year - I loved them so much I bought another pair in the sale to keep when this pair have been washed too many times :D

tara knows about ordering a girl, she managed it using a well known meathod which involving having sex before ovulation - there's more things to do but it's based on the fact that girl sperms swim slower and survive longer :)

Hmm - we were using the 'rabbits' approach to conception (2 or 3 times a day all month ) so not sure how that works!!
Wasn't it that you were more likely to have a girl if you don't have an orgasm??

Are there any rules on taking dinky babies into pub these days? The place I went to last night was a Hungry Horse pub with a conservatory well away from the loud bar. Just wondered if I could take Rhys there - with OH too obviously!

Benjamin went to the pub for the first time when he was about 5 days :D
Our local is a family friendly wacky-type place so kids are welcome.
And now people can't smoke in pubs there is nothing to worry about....unless you want to sit outside

Sami - my accent is a generic University educated accent - we all go in with accents of varying levels and come out sounding like me :D

    Morning all!

Aw havnt stopped for a second today and managed to get bu99er all done - well I put Lexi's cot together :T She looks so small in it!
I have no motivation left but sooo many things I want to do and my baby has decided that she doesnt want to nap today... She is in her pram at the moment with me pushing her back and to but every time I stop she opens her big blue eyes and laughs at me!

Weezl once again you shame us all with your talents!
I am kind of fashion aware and am kind of the same way with Joshua :o He has been in brand name trainers since he was born :o
But then alot of his clothes are from next and H&M so still lovely IMO but not all of his clothes have a brand tag on them just some of them, to be honest though I tend to buy ahead in the sales and the little man grows so fast and he is in school uniform all day through the week that when he grows out of things and they are in perfect condition I sell them on ebay for near what I paid for them sometimes more! Like his Timberland jacket I sold it on ebay for £15 more than I paid for it and it wasnt new anymore.......

for going and looking or for thinking of a mini-skirt?

:rotfl:Hey! How d'you know I'm not an uber trendy fashionista?! I'm gonna buy me that eiffel tower handbag now ;)

    How about a cowboy hat?
Or some velcro-on fringes for Fergie's trews? ;)

I don't know what it was that made me think that you didn't have a wardrobe full of Jimmy Choos

Today I have started writing a letter to Benjamin for his 18th Birthday. He is 18 week at the moment so it seems appropriate. I know that I am not the kind of person to keep a baby book etc but writing him a letter to tell him some things is right up my street. :D

Have shed more than a few tears already :o

Tine - we take risks because we are happy we either outcome. I think in some cases heart and head aren't in agreement.
