My mum used to give us a French Stick each when we went into the Supermarket - she would bite the top off and let us pull the bread out from inside and eat as far as our arms would go :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Cost her next to nothing and kept us quiet all the way around the supermarket :D
Once mine could read, they all got to choose a comic on the way in, and would then find a place to stand at the end of each aisle and read while I went up and down. They'd usually finished by the time we got to the till so I'd buy them and then they could swap. Also the adult males in this house still like the Beano. :rotfl:

Which series, when, where? I shall be gutted if I've missed any of a new series. Although I only watch it for the locations and to impress on DS3 how NOT to behave.

Savvy we're about 4 episodes into the latest series on ch4 it's very far fetched IMHO there were the odd things going on when I was at college but nothing like this series!! I do love Panda she is such a fab character :)

Thanks loads for all the nice compliments everyone! DH still thinks we're slightly in 'about a boy' territory, but I think fergus will still be too little to be at all self conscious about clothes :)

all with parenting experience of older boys, at what age d'you think home-made clothes would be a problem? (obviously I'll ditch the baggy bums and elastic waists pretty soon!)

3 you sound happier again, well done :)

It depends how you bring him up really Weezl. My two have never really been into brand names and choosing clothes until the last year or so when they've had more peer pressure from school. They're 12 and 10 now.

If he's like that, you could get away with it for a few years. However the boys have got friends who've had to have the latest fashion from a young age.
Here I go again on my own....

BTW, Bruno, I've been wondering about what you said your OH said about not rewarding your mother for hassling you - but is she actually going the other way and punishing your mother for what she regards as hassling? I know that wasn't the exact words you used, but is that what is happening? Does your OH feel that if she can't have her own family, there's no next best thing, she'd rather not have yours, because it makes her miss her own too much? I just ask the question, as it pops into my head, I have no idea whether or how you'd raise this with her. :o

Thanks Sue; I totally agree, she is (her mum actually died in her arms while she tried to save her 6 years ago, so it is naturally enough a very very sensitive topic with her anyway). I've pretty much said that to her, she's said she doesn't mean to be, and that's where we are!

I was slow to compliment, but I am in awe of both your craft skills and your time-management abilities :) Congrats. He's surely too young to worry about being home-made yet!
