Tine is there a feed she usually always likes? If so I'm sure it would be possible to keep say 1st and last feeds going :) xx

Well usually she will have her breakfast but she's even managed to not take those a couple of times in the last week :( ditto her bed time feed - managed it tonight but have had a couple this week where it took me 3 hours to get a feed in her with screaming and crying all the way through...

We'll try and see how we get on :)

I have 3 jars of aptimil that I nicked from the hospital (she had formula top ups to try and get her sugars up). I also have 2oz of EBM in the fridge for later and about 5oz in 4 bottles in the freezer :D I am obsessive about expressing since the mastitis. But it is good to know it is there for my sanity.

Got her to take a dummy tonight, 2 hours of having my boobs to myself, bliss! But anyone know why she keeps spitting my niple out only to root around for it again?? And what is this feeding lying down all about? :D

DH is being better behaved now, good job for his knackers :rotfl:

Sami my star wrap arrived last week, it looks so comfy, cant wait to use it!

Tiamai - have you checked for oral thrush? I think fro memory that the first sign Alexandra had initially of thrush was spitting the nipple out constantly only to try and root it out again  It might not be ofcourse but might be worth keeping an eye out for :) They do it because it's actually uncomfy or painful to suckle poor luvs

Lying down feeding is ace - I like it because I can catnap as she eats and also wrap myself round her and snuggle her :D
Also think it's easier than trying to wake up enough to feed them in the night sat up somewhere

searching, tesco own nappies are great, until the larger sizes. DS2 is in size 6 but they flop down at the front so that the ....velcro taggy bits are holding the nappy up and the sides hang down.

hugs to you MrsT. And a big congratulations to your perseverence with BF. You've had a really rough ride and whatever you do in the future - BF, mixed or FF, remember that you are a great mummy. The best piece of advice a friend gave me when I was worrying about feeding issues was that anyone can feed a baby but not everyone can be a mother ;) xxx

Caitlyn has a bottle of formula at night before bed, mainly so DH can feed her as I can't really get along with expressing yet. I also think it's good to get her used to the bottle so that when I stop BF there are no issues with her refusing it.

I only managed to BF for a week with DS. I cried thinking I'd failed as a mum, but like the others have said a happy mum is more important. The breastmilk she's had from you so far will have done wonders for her :)

Guess she was just done, gave her the dummy and she passed out. yay!

    Off to google positions :D

Oh and schools are back this week! DS2 to nursery tomorrow and DS1 to school Tuesday :j:j:j:j woohoo!! woot-woot!!! :T:T:j:j:rotfl:

I only breast fed the boys for 1-2 weeks and then gave up, I do regret not giving it more of a shot but I made the decision for the right reasons at the time (get them out special care and off the nasal gastric tubes). They have grown up fine and I can still say that they got the best start I could give them. But when it comes to whats best for babies, they don't really care so long as their bellies get filled and their mummies are happy.
