.. tia if you're about still try YouTube for feeding positions there's loads on there :)

Thanks for that Sami. I've just been watching lots of BF vids whilst feeding Rhys and learnt a fair bit I didn't know :) Had plenty of time to read as Rhys just fed for 90 minutes  Honestly, I can barely move - my back's seized up! I know (now!) it's not wholly effective sucking but he's getting there and the more practise he gets, the better :D

Anyone know, is there anything in particular I'm supposed to do when combining breastfeeding and expressing? Is it always worth expressing just after feeding to get whatever he's missed? Not going to do any harm, is it?

Hope all this ups my supply - steriliser is full of pots again from where I've been defrosting some :o Need to get more stashed away..

What happens if yours get up in the night? Do they go downstairs or come into your room? I always get my girls to wake me up if they feel lonely or not well, rather than their sister in the room with them.

It depends what they've woken for! Joshua (12) will normally sort himself out and only wake me if he's really poorly or upset. I trust him with the medicine cabinet and he'll just get up and get a paracetamol tablet or a throat lozenge or whatever if he feels unwell. James (10) will wake me if he's unwell or upset, but if he just wants a drink or something, he'll sort that out himself.

Charlotte is the 2 year old and she'll either get up or just lay in bed and yell "want Mam now" at the top of her voice :rotfl:She hasn't been in a bed long and we've had a few weeks of her getting up and climbing into bed with someone else. She's stayed in her own bed the last few nights, so I think she's settled in there now.
Here I go again on my own....

At first I expressed after each feed, and for the first few days I still got about half my usual amount. As it started going down, I just dropped feeds. It went quite quickly, but I imagine the same would work on a slower scale, so you can monitor his intake closely. I always expressed just after a feed, seemed the most convient time to do it. If I did it other times, I'd end up with a hungry baby and me trying to finish pumping, or I'd have to stop and feed him.

I have 3 jars of aptimil that I nicked from the hospital (she had formula top ups to try and get her sugars up). I also have 2oz of EBM in the fridge for later and about 5oz in 4 bottles in the freezer :D I am obsessive about expressing since the mastitis. But it is good to know it is there for my sanity.

Got her to take a dummy tonight, 2 hours of having my boobs to myself, bliss! But anyone know why she keeps spitting my niple out only to root around for it again?? And what is this feeding lying down all about? :D

DH is being better behaved now, good job for his knackers :rotfl:

Sami my star wrap arrived last week, it looks so comfy, cant wait to use it!
Sorry I've not been on here much lately, congratulations :j

Tine, have you read through this on nursing strikes:
    http://www.kellymom.com/bf/concerns/baby/back-to-breast.html
If that doesn't help, I'd highly recommend registering on the Kellymom forum and asking for advice there, and giving the La Leche League helpline a call. They are absolutely fantastic for advice, and I'm sure they'll have something to offer.

If switching to FF'ing is best for you, then do that, but there is lots and lots of help and support available if you think sticking with BF'ing is best for you. I was told to only decide to stop BF'ing after a good days feed. One of those tricks to try and get you to stick with it when you want to, but finding it hard.

Morning everyon (note to self: must try and log on here more often)
    How is everyone?
We are fine, although I've been up since 5.30am :(
Ryan's routine is all out of sorts at the mo so I said to OH that we need to sit down and sort it out properly, on the plus side he went from 8.30pm to 6am without a feed! he did wake at 3.30am but I gave him his dummy and he went off so I now know he doesn't actually need that mid - night feed.

AF is still not here, I dont feel pregnant so maybe it's just taking it's time, might do another test this week.

I'm starting to get really sick of living where I am, but not alot I can do about that, I nearly fell out with a neighbour last week because her OH left her and she is *slightly* off her rocker and was bringing alot of drama to my house, OH had to stick it on her to make her realise she was acting like a certified nut job, saying that she still doesnt think she was in the wrong.
Basically she punched him in the head infront of my baby, then when he wouldnt go home she plotted herself on my stairs and wouldnt go without him (while having her 3 kids screaming in tow) OH had to physically remove her from the house!
Then she came round the next day and started having a go at us saying we are 2 faced because we put her OH up for the night, oh it done my head in and carried on for a couple of days.
I have lost alot of respect for her now, i feel like I should not talk to her but I dont want there to be friction with the children and other neighbours but I certainly wont be as close to her as I was.

A question on nappies, can I take some back that havent been opened?
My Mum's friend's Mum bought me 2 packs of Teco own ones but they are size 3 and far too small for my fat boy, so could I do a swap if I have no receipt?

Oooh I have finally uploaded a pic of Ryan rolling over, please excuse OH swearing at the computer right at the end, I tried to cut it but couldnt :o

Ok, my baby has gone from only feeding at home to only feeding lying on the bed... On her left side... I don't know what to do about it either!

Could you trick her into thinking she's in her preferred position? Like you'd do if she had a favourite side?

she is waking at least once an hour after i put her down and then may do a 3 hour stint before waking again and then only going back down for an hour or so at a time until we get up.

How old is she? Could it be a growth spurt? Or trapped wind? Not enough sleeping during the day? Too much sleeping during the day? Teething? All of these things (and more!) have caused sensitive Celia to wake more often!

They all tend to get better around four months, (not sure when Rhys will hit that though!) I remember that fondly, the 1.5/2hr night feeds dropped to half an hour! Bliss!

The binmen have arrived and Celia wants to see what they're doing while she has milk she she bouncing about hopefully! I'm now fully recovered (fingers crossed) so am all set for the sling meet today (I've packed my brolly!). It's the first one I've organised so I'm really keem for it to go well! I've not infectious btw as no one else in the house is even vaguely ill so no worries.
