Meant to add, I think Cliodhna gets just as much if not more cuddle time from me, because I do miss that closeness from BF and spend loads of time with her on my chest and her head tucked under my chin.0

mrs t i did the same when i realised i just couldnt anymore i cried buckets thinking i was a useless mummy i mean i couldnt with zoe and then at only 4 weeks i was having to do the same when i really really wanted to but i realised a stressed and upset mummy is not what my mister needs so after some cuddles from philip i realised it was for the best x

What a cheeky monkey Erin is. Izzy gums me sometimes - gets a good grip then tries to turn around. Normally in public too... I'm not looking forward to teeth! Lucky break on the party. I've told my parents that we will be having birthday parties at their house when she is bigger, as they have more space! A little while before I have to worry about that though.
And that nursery sounds ace. I've read about them before, and they sound great fun. The only thing with these nurseries is it makes me wish I could go along too
We have parties at my parents too, my mum loves being the host so I let her have all the stress
Tine - I was gonna suggest you replace 1 or 2 feeds with formula to give yourself a break and also then growth spurts will be a bit easier as you just put more in the bottle plus the benefit of if you go back to work while stil BFing your boobs will be used to it??
Just watched economy gastronomy 1st show, that hotdog thing looked vile
I did well with my sainsbury's trip earlier 5 t-shirts for the grand total of £9.05:T
now I need to get my old stuff on ebay!
off for a shower now, don't wanna be smelly greasy mong 2mo :eek:0 -
Thanks girls
I'll go and get some cartons tomorrow and some powder for the cupboard... then we'll TRY for BFing this week and speak to the HVs to see what they think but you're right... a not stressed mummy is better for her now than a super stressed mummy trying to BF her and getting more and more upset because we can't make it work. At least if we have the formula in the house we'll be able to grab it should it be needed and that might make me relax enough to manage not to have to use it if that makes sense
I just feel that we've managed this far and I'd hate to give up - we got through thrush, latching on problems, baby snuffles causing latching problems and what has seemed like an endless stream of problems and I'm so stubborn but it really has been getting me down... And I know I'll still get cuddles but it's not the same as lying in bed with her latched on and snuggling round her as she's munching away and drifting off to sleep *sigh* I do love that...
On the other hand - not having to get my boob out umpteen times a day when she thinks she may or may not want a feed... or spending most of my day attached to the pump when I express... well I guess that would be niceDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

I've given up trying to catch up now!!!!good morning
babies having nightmares...
anyone know what the general good advice is? Our hunch is not to wake him, but do speak gently to him and very softly pat his tummy. (my hope is that like when an adult will include a real life noise into a dream - like a dog barking, a baby will do it too, so mummy will turn up and make the bad things go away!)
What do you all do?
DustyKitten, fergie is 5.5 months too, and also in with us stillI don't mind it at the moment, but I think we'll move him soon (6/7 months?) because I want to watch tv in my room and read books and [STRIKE]row with DH[/STRIKE] have heated debates, all without waking fergie. Selfish mummy!
Well I'm off to a car boot sale. I may still look for a walker on wheels, but I did very much appreciate all the thoughts on those, and will make sure I can adjust the height so his feet are on the floor, and limit the time usage
Still feel really far from weanable here... Have tried putting some food objects in his hand, but he doesn't bring them to his mouth. Obviously not ready yet! No worries, he's not been waking due to hunger or anything yet... So I'll wait a bit. It sounds like quite a messy stage, so I'll enjoy my clean kitchen floor a while longer
Love to all,
Weezl x
when you say nightmares do you mean crying while asleep? LO does this/did this and we worked out that it was teething troubles. We made sure that we had gel/calpol/etc to hand if we needed it in the middle of the night, but generally comforted her without actually waking her. Occassionally she woke herself up, but went back to sleep pretty quickly. HTH
exhuasted - so off to bed now. I'm sure I'll be back to chat sometime tomorrow x  to everyone xr.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
LOL sami yes the hotdog thing looked vile didn't it? But I can recommend the macaroni cheese (minus the artichoke hearts I mean ) recipe
I don't really do M C - but hubby loves it (first I've heard since meeting him lol) so I made it on friday and made a HUGE portion! We had dinner friday, dinner saturday and another 2 portions in the freezer! Works out pretty cheap too even if you do add extra bacon
Managed to buy a top silver thingy cut of beef yesterday in the reduced section so we had that for dinner tonight with home grown spuds from the allotment :j
and have enough left to try the cornish pasty recipe they did on there tooNot bad for £4.13 for a cut of beef over 1.2kg

I have 3 jars of aptimil that I nicked from the hospital (she had formula top ups to try and get her sugars up). I also have 2oz of EBM in the fridge for later and about 5oz in 4 bottles in the freezer
I am obsessive about expressing since the mastitis. But it is good to know it is there for my sanity.
Got her to take a dummy tonight, 2 hours of having my boobs to myself, bliss! But anyone know why she keeps spitting my niple out only to root around for it again??And what is this feeding lying down all about?
DH is being better behaved now, good job for his knackers :rotfl:
Sami my star wrap arrived last week, it looks so comfy, cant wait to use it!0
