    good morning :)

    babies having nightmares...

anyone know what the general good advice is? Our hunch is not to wake him, but do speak gently to him and very softly pat his tummy. (my hope is that like when an adult will include a real life noise into a dream - like a dog barking, a baby will do it too, so mummy will turn up and make the bad things go away!)

    What do you all do?

DustyKitten, fergie is 5.5 months too, and also in with us still :) I don't mind it at the moment, but I think we'll move him soon (6/7 months?) because I want to watch tv in my room and read books and [STRIKE]row with DH[/STRIKE] have heated debates, all without waking fergie. Selfish mummy!

Well I'm off to a car boot sale. I may still look for a walker on wheels, but I did very much appreciate all the thoughts on those, and will make sure I can adjust the height so his feet are on the floor, and limit the time usage :)

Still feel really far from weanable here... Have tried putting some food objects in his hand, but he doesn't bring them to his mouth. Obviously not ready yet! No worries, he's not been waking due to hunger or anything yet... So I'll wait a bit. It sounds like quite a messy stage, so I'll enjoy my clean kitchen floor a while longer :)

    Love to all,

    Weezl x

My girls watch the football with me

The football season has started now, so that makes life more bearable :D

Who do you support? I'm a Sunderland supporter, so I've been through a bit of a rollercoaster with Keane leaving last season, Ellis Short taking full financial control, Ricky Sbragia keeping them up by the skin of his teeth last season (it all hinged on our result and others on the last match!) and now Steve Bruce who's bought in some decent players. They played well yesterday and got three points at Bolton, so I was really happy with that.

If you want to talk about football, you're more than welcome to join my husbands Sunderland board. Although it's mainly Sunderland supporters, there are a few fans of other teams on there just for the chat. Let me know if you want the link.
Here I go again on my own....

I don't know about an amazing job. As i've said before, I hope to go to bed having done more right than wrong :o

The eldest wants to work in some kind of social care. Now, I have one or two options after talking to her this evening. We looked at a college prospectus and she says she will consider a couple of evening classes that her friend is talking, Sociology and Psychology and has allowed me to look into it next week and she'll get her friend to tell her more. It's only 3 hours per class per week I think and at GCSE level. It's a compromise. My SIL also has a friend who works for the local voluntary HQ and she said she will find out what organisations need some voluntary help. I'm not sure if a 16 year old can do voluntary work though? Does she have to be 18? She says she will listen to what people have to say. I won't force her into anything, she's had a rough time and we have a mutual respect and trust that I will not ruin for anything.

I think you are doing a wonderful job, it can't be easy.

As for college, your DD would have more time doing a regular day time course. Most are only 3 days a week and night courses sound great until you see just how much work and study you have to do at home.

Caz, no idea what tablets your on, but get back to your GP and tell them they aren't working! Great news about the weight though, you must feel great huh?

Well, Amber and I went up to bed at 1am, she took 10mls out a bottle and fell asleep. I woke up at 8am for a pee and she was still asleep!!!! So I woke her for a feed. 40mins later and she was content to go back down. Dunno if she is asleep, I came down for breakfast and to express and left her in her crib DH is still in bed and I can't hear screaming.

This having a newborn is confusing me!!! It's not normal and can't be good that she slept for 7 hours (no matter how good I feel for it).

The ones you are on don't often cause drowsiness, or affect sleep. Some do, but these don't, which is why I took them. How long have you been on them now? There are loads of different types, so if they aren't suiting you, go back to your GP and tell them why. There are a few others suitable for breastfeeding you could try. Have you got an outlet for your feelings?

Just so you know don't worry they won't get empty, whenever the baby sucks they'll produce milk, it's a supply and demand thing. Just sometimes you wish they'd stop demanding so you can stop supplying! (just for a bit!)

No advice i'm afraid, but just wanted to say I think if you are doing BLW you are not supposed to put the food in their hands...I think it was MFD and/or Susan who pointed this out:)

You haven't been on them long caz, when dh went on to anti-d's it disrupted his sleep for a few weeks, but once his system got used to them he sleeps the best he has ever done in his life...honestly:D If in another couple of weeks youare still not sleeping go back to the GP, because they should should be aware of this:)

MR T Have Huggies swim nappies on offer.....2 packs for £7 usually over £5 a pack, this offer is for all sizes (XS, S, M, L) :money:

I have just ordered some size S, although I couldn't see the sizing on the website, so I went to the Huggies website and they reckon that XS is up 13lb and then S is from 16lb...so either that's a typo or very strange. Kai is 15lb so 'apparantly' in the middle of the two:rolleyes:

Honestly I am one of these people except I am trying to do better :p reading certain incorrect usages and spelling etc make me wince but I hide it behind a thin veneer of tolerance :D I know it's wrong of me!

Sounds like mostly doing greatCaz! Losing a stone is awesome :) But to second Tiamai, sounds like something to raise back to the GP - "pills are basically working but sleep is a problem, is there an alternative I could try"? Burning out is exactly what can happen if you keep going full speed with too little sleep!

Anyone know of any quiet beaches near Hayling Island, Portsmouth? Within 20 miles or so.
thats just near me! unfortunately no beaches are very quiet round here at this time of year cos people flock down, but on weekdays they tend to be quieter. the nicest beach around, no contest, is west witterings near chichester, its lovely and sandy and absolutely huge, it stretches for miles and when the tide is out its almost as long that way! sometimes hill head near gosport is quieter but isnt as nice a beach, its all stoney. and apparantly theres a nice quiet beach called the titchfield haven which is also near gosport, but i've never been there. my nan goes every thursday for her painting/coffee class :rotfl: HTH
