I'm a lot less bothered now - as long as Violet is eating the dog, I don't think a human touch is going to harm her!
I had to laugh at this, you should really feed her properly so she doesn't need to eat the dog!!!!!

Mrs Moc, have you seen/spoken to a breastfeeding counsellor? I spoke to a lady from La Leche League, and she really helped with our problems. Even if you've spoken to someone before, it is worth trying again. The first lady I spoke to didn't know what was causing the pain I was having, but the second did, and helped us solve it!Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0

Mrs Moc, it does get easier I promise
How old is she now? Do you know if there is any kind of support group near to you? And do give the number in my signature a call, everyone that answers the phone has been where you are now!
Had more to say but madam's just woken up, we have to get Aimee from school then have 5 mins to get to the Drs for the 8week check... Am I right in my suspisions that they might very well stab her in the legs at this appointment? Then straight from there to swimming lessons... Thank goodness for the summer holidays... I won't be rushing next wednesday!A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Krystal - yes it's immunisation day for you! Alexandra has just about half an hour ago had hers! Screamed for about 3 minutes and then something caught her attention and she stopped like someone had flicked a switch... highly amusing!DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Mrs Moc - call your HV and ask her to come out to see you
They can check to see if it's thrush and if they are super nice like mine they might even get your prescription for you and even deliver it
(ok so maybe I have a nice HV to make up for my miserable MW!)
If it's thrush then it's easy to clear up and pretty quick once you get the gel from the doc. It could also explain the soreness in the nipples - it's really like no other pain I've ever had! But what got me was that they didn't LOOK like they should be that sorethey weren't cracked or anything but by jove the pain was something else.
We're now at 8 weeks and it's SOOOO much easierShe started latching properly at 6 weeks with help from me (I use my middle finger to get her mouth properly open to get a big mouthfull of boob - it makes a huge difference almost immediately when they start latching on properly...) and now if I'm a bit slow to help her on but the nipple is in reach she'll do it herself :j :j It's like she's sussed where the nipple OUGHT to be and sucks it in to the right position herself
I found that loads of other mums at boob cafe with larger breasts had the same latching on problem I did and once i showed them how I got Alexandra to latch on they found it easier too... and it was only because I was sat flicking through the HV bible with the HV there one day we saw the note in the margin about holding the breast just back from the aereoli (sp????) with your thumb and forefinger and then using your middle finger to push the baby's chin down a little to open the mouth up properly that I even thought of trying it... it sounded so awkward but when I finally tried it it made a massive difference
Hang in there chick but if you DO go formula then don't feel bad
Oh and have you had her checked to make sure she's not tongue tied?DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

Thanks all with helpful suggestions with regards to shopping! Just wanted to say though its not my 6 year old who is the problem touch wood never really had any tantrums from him, he knows better
He just gets a bit dozy as we walk into the supermarket  And walks in front of the trolley and such!
Its my lovely 13 week old who is the horro! Most of the things MFD mentioned I already do, must be the car seat! Well off to try one of the normal baby seats in the trolley. She is in a good mood right now so lets see if the supermarket puts her in a bad one! Bless her, the chicken pox must be annoying the life out of her as she keeps trying to scratch - had to go back to scratch mitts last night. But she was miserable as anything before the spots came out and now that they have shes all happy and smiley again!
Oh we went into town shopping this afternoon and just bought her a gold bangle and put it on and it looks adorable!
My poor bank is being battered from all sides bought her cot and mattress last night and it is lovely!
Anyway off we go to the dreaded supermarket! Wish me luck.....

Sparkle don't worry
I walk round the big Tesco singing made up songs and danish songs etc to keep Alexandra happy... maybe that's why so few people come up to us? I probably sound like a loon gargeling away to her

I'm knackered after playing with the honking pig!!!!
Now El is sitting in the kitchen playing with the pans and wooden spoon and she has now decided the dog should play to, so has carried everything to where he is lying!! Won't be long til he moves with the racket she is making!!!
Sparkle hope the shopping trip went ok.
I'm another loon who will do anything to keep El amused while out and about!!! At least thats my excuse for bein a loon, I think if I didn't have an excuse i might have been locked up a while ago.......Everyone is entitled to their opinionEllie 25/12/070 -
Thanks for the advice, I actually feel better knowing now its going to be sorted out.
I phoned the HV, and found another couple of small white spots on the inside of Cliodhna's lips so its thrush.
She recommended I phone the Dr's for a prescription of Canestan for my nipplesand Nistaten drops for Cliodhna.
Putting canestan on my nipples is going to feel weird. I have a tube upstairs which I can use till I collect the prescription tomorrow.
Mrs T my nipples look fine, but OMG they hurt!!!0 -
Mrs Moc - don't worry it WILL get better and it'll at most be a couple of days before you start feeling better
I found not letting Alexandra near my boobies for a couple of days whilst treating them helped too
Just giving her expressed milk instead.
I feel your pain - I really really do!I think unless you've had it you can't possibly understand HOW painful it is because it doesn't LOOK painful at all
The gel you'll get for the baby's mouth btw will say not to use for under 3 months I think... check it with your GP but it's basically because there are very very few medications in the UK that have a license for under 12 week old babies... so they HAVE to say not to use on babies under x age. Doesn't mean they're not safe but obviously anything medical should be checked with your GPDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!
