    Months!!! Nooooooooo

We were just unlucky and the initial pain never returned it was just, well hard to describe, annoying mostly! We just passed it back and forth, I just stopped treatment too quickly I think. We also had a couple of courses of antibiotics in that time, well Celia did which brought it back (just as I'd got it under control).

Canestan is (one of) the correct treatment (s) for thrush any of the 'downstairs' (didn't want to get caught in the naughty filter!) treatments are fine to use on your nipples as long as you wash it off before a feed :-)

The nystatin drops are fab btw they're really strongly cherry and bright yellow! Celia thought they were great (thankfully!)

Ok so heres one for you all, I need to go shopping today and last time I went I had one of those stupid trolleys that you pop the car seat on top of. Lexi screamed for the whole time of us being out - she hates her car seat with a passion now (think it was our fault for going on a long car journey and getting stuck in traffic - we did stop and she wasnt distressed but since then has hated it) I also had Joshua with me who although is a good boy has a habit of going into dozy mode as soon as we walk through shop doors! Anyway as I just said I get embarrassed when Lexi screams (and boy can she go for it) :o so I ended up carrying her in my arms and pushing an overloaded trolley that wouldnt go wher I wanted it to and I can barely see over the top of those things anyway once car seat is plonked on top.

Do any of you get embarrassed when your out and about and the little one plays up? Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Should I try one of those trolleys that have a built in baby seat? When can you use them from? Lexi is 13 weeks. I need to get a sling or something that would probably help - will order one today but I have to absolutely go shopping this afternoon or we will al starve! :rotfl:

take a blanket or muslin with you as they are hard! and depending on how clean they are possibly lots of wipes too (do I sound like sami now ;))
    Im just dreading it already.....

3 - I'm glad you had a long chat with him and that things are kinda sorted - it will take time I'm sure but hopefully you can work through it :)
I know DH was struggling with me being pregnant as he just freaked about having sex whilst the Roo was in there... I can see how they might flip a little as their world gets turned upside down and suddenly stops evolving round them ;)

I had this 'problem' with my DH - the first day we were home he asked if I felt like it :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:LO is now 24wks and I think we've done it twice so you can guess what my reply to him on that day was;)

We're Peter Rabbit fans here and I decorated Charlottes room with a Peter Rabbit theme. The cot, curtains and mobile were bought when I was expecting Joshua, and there's a cot quilt that we used as a mat too! Here's the pics from when it was first done:

I love your room - it's gorgeous :D Is that a beatrix potter echange mat I spy??? I would have loved one of those.....

Yay for Baby MacSmiler AGAIN :T
And Yay for going to the pub ;)

Oh goodness - I'm going tonight as well. At baby class someone reminded me we were having a ngiht out (arranged weeks ago) which I'd totally forgotten. I'm just waiting for DH to come home and then I'm jumping in the shower. I deserve that large Hendicks and Tonic  as madam has refused to sleep all day - to the point where we went out in the car to 'make' her sleep. It just tired me out singing very loudly to take that when she wouldn't stop screaming. Damn teeth!

I think this smilie is mad for you :rotfl:

Shopping - I found changing supermarkets helped...Benjamin hates Tescos, I think it must be the lighting

    A few other tips:

Make sure baby is fed/winded/clean and generally happy.

Get the essentials in the trolley first :D

Remember you can stop for a cuddle...leave your trolley with customer serivces and go sit in the cafe for a while

Take several toys and bring them out one at a time

Using the baby seats does work because baby can see more

Rock the trolley and sing and dance like a mad thing to keep baby entertained :D

Go to a checkout with a young lad if possible - someone who won't want to spend 5 minutes cooing over the baby or saying 'hello, what are you crying for' to your distressed child  (he is crying because you are too dozy to hurry up )

    And finally,

remember that YOU CAN LEAVE. Leave the trolley, take the baby and b00ger off - not helpful when you have got to feed the family but since my husband reminded me of this I have calmed down a lot.

I had an awful experience in Tescos when Benjamin was 8 weeks (ish ) where a woman put some things on the belt behind my shopping and her husband made her move them all to another till because the baby was crying :o I was fighting back the tears.

I told you ladies (and Bruno) MFD is a wise woman :p

I use this on our bin and on things like the phone handset etc etc....yes, I am a bit anal about that kind of thing. I was actually thinking about it at the begining of the week and the more I clean the more i think it's a reflection of control issues - I like to be neat and tidy - i.e. tidy house, tidy mind and all that, but recently I think it's because lots feels outwith my control, hence cleaning the carpets makes me feel I've managed to contribute something, or perhaps I've got rather too deep and meaningful!

DH announced last night he fancies a holiday in september - anyone got any baby friendly recommendations. I'm a happy traveller and flying with a baby doesn't phase me but location is tricky.....any ideas?

Sami, I would just take a smallish blanket. This would serve two purposes....1-would make the hard seat far more comfortable and 2- baby wouldn't be touching any part of the seat and you can just chuck the blanket in the wash when you get home.........you could always just keep one blanket specifically for this purpose if you wanted too.

r.mac I think this is a really good point and I wonder as well whether we are used to jobs and education where there is a feeling of a finished product, a project, report or somesuch. But a lot of the work we do as mums is just as hard, but there's no discernable 'end product' in being constantly available to your child, monitoring her stimulation levels, holding her safety close in your mind at all times... as well as the observables like clean bottoms and milk drunk!!! So I think it is easy then to focus on things with a visible end product, the carpet was dirty but is now clean, for example.

Just something I've been musing on myself these last few months :)

We have been thinking about a cruise (from the UK so we don't have to fly) or I have suddenly decided Madeira might be nice

Edit: Mrs M she is beautiful!! I have used a blanket when I have put Benjamin in them too!

LOL - maybe the state of my house is the reason why I can't form coherent sentences any more!!!
