Krystal it was me wanting aubergines! And cooked ones freeze fine, so yes, you could freeze the sauce.

I love frying them with halloumi cheese and mushrooms and putting sweet chilli sauce and lemon juice over the top. But this recipie is my favourite thing to do with them. Except there aren't actually aubergines in the recipe, I just add it in anyway at the beginning with the tofu, and it works really well - the tofu and aubergine both absorb the flavours in the sauce, and it is incredably yummy. Maybe I will get 2 aubergines and have that tomorrow!

    Sorry, my bad ;)

I would try that but hubby is unwilling to try anything that has chilli in... He's a girl when it comes to food that might have a little heat to it...

We have a pop man that comes round here and we had a couple of crates of pop off him... But we just weren't drinking it... And he was calling every week... And he's quite an abrupt man.... I've avoided the door for the past few wednesdays, just stuck the empty crate out last week... Thought he might of taken the hint... But he knocked today, and I was in the kitchen so couldn't really not answer... I just played the dutiful wife and told him my husband hadn't left me any money... And no I couldn't just take a crate and pay next week because I didn't know what he wanted to order... Looks like I'll be back to hiding upstairs on a Wednesday morning ;)
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

krystal - I ahve 3 in my fridge too. I'm going to make [STRIKE]parmaegg-something melanane[/STRIKE] aubergine bake italian style (I can't spell it's italian name!) It's a bit like a veggetarian lasagne with the aubergine acting as the pasta :D yum.

Our trip to the farm has been cancelled as our friends wee girl is ill :( So as it's nice weather we are going out this afternoon for a bit of a walk.

    Morning all

What's a typical sleep pattern for a 1-year old? Is an 11 hour night sleep too keen?

I am beginning to think we're putting him to bed too early (around 7.15/7.30, and he's always ready to go down... he has one 90ish-min nap during the day, after lunch) - even when he has a good night, from sometime around 4am+ he is wakeful and restless without fail. Sometimes we get him to go back down again but if so, he wakes within 45 minutes each time. We've tried controlled crying with it but as he usually isn't REALLY crying, just moaning and grinching, his doesn't seem to work.

Contemplating trying a bedtime 30-60 mins later and seeing if that impacts waking time, but we were pretty happy to be back into an evening routine and I hate to mess with it :| hmmmmmmph.

Hello to the new joiners, and some great pictures there, thanks! Having a grumpy day so far today so cheery babies always helpful ;p

at 1yo Chris was having 13hrs at night and 2 one hour naps, ahh those were the days!

Caz I'm glad the doc was helpful, hopefully they'll get to the bottom of things with Charlie too (hopefully that he's just an energetic lil money or maybe not if they calm him down with something LOL)

    Aubergines are minging :p

Cas whilst obviously that's terrible for her husband and probably very distressing for her then she still has a professional obligation to look after people in the community. If she called in sick or left then the surgery manager should have ensured that someone was assigned to you...

Glad you're feeling better though :)

have to say I agree, my HV is off having a hip replacement, another has retired and another is off with cancer :( but this hasn't affected the basic services we receive, they've had to change how they work clinics (now a nurse weighs baby so they only need 1 HV instead of 2) and they've canceled the nice extra things like baby massage but at least we still get visits etc.

why don't people use a bit of compassion before treating everything as a business?!

that is just awful how on earth can they do that to a family who are obviously going through hell:mad:

thanks Sami and Mrs T i do agree with you and the fact i have been left on 4 occassions waiting for her to turn up is ridiculous. Hopefully ill hear from HV this week and speak to her about it all.

Caz - Glad you got seen by a nice doc, and it's good they are going to look at Charlie for you too. It may turn out that he is a perfectly fine, active child, at least you will have your mind put at rest:) Just wanted to add that even if the tablets make you feel worse at first, stick with them, you will feel like a new person after a few weeks:D

Sami - That story is disgusting, I showed my husband he just said "welcome to britain PLC"

JakesMummy - Did you get a chance to look into Uni's, let us know the outcome when you do:)

Bruno - At 1yr ds1 used to have 30mins morning nap, 2hrs afternoon nap and 7pm-7am at night:) ds2 did 30mis morning, 30mins afternoon and between 10-12hrs at night

    Hope you are all well:)
Kai only woke twice last night and not until 4.30am so got a decent sleep...then when he fell asleep this morning after brekkie I went and jumped back into bed, dh got up and left me sleeping until 10am!!!!
