went to docs and erins temp was 38.5! he checked her over and there is nothing physically wrong with her. he said it could be teeth/virus. but if im not happy take her straight back and he will check her over.

skinty with thrush we noticed a big difference within a week, we had nystan for baby rather than the gel so might be worth looking into getting that?

sami i used the breast pads that were soaked to wipe erins sticky eye, everyone of mine have had a sticky and and it has cleared up this way!

welcome newbies need to run as i have hungry children lol!

There is something on my mind and I need you lot to give me a bit of perspective

We started Baby Bop last week and really enjoyed it (apart from the fact that it was a bit baby-signing oriented when I am not a fan of baby-signing but that is another discussion...)

One of the songs we did was 'If you're happy and you know it' which is fine...apart from the fact that the second verse had been changed to:

'If you're angry and you know it stamp your feet' - with angry faces and stamping motions to go along with it.

Now I know Benjamin is only 20 weeks but I am not sure that I want my child to be taught to stamp his feet when he is angry

They also do 'if you're sad and you know it have a cry' which I didn't like much either...

So - am I being ridiculous or do you think I should say something? The lady who takes the class had removed 'the grand old duke of york' from the class at the request of one of the other ladies (who was unable to do the actions with her child) so I don't think it would be a major issue to not do it...but do I really want to make a fuss?

For what it is worth, last week I just kept singing 'happy and you know it' to Benjamin so I guess I could just keep on doing that....but it seems a bit cowardly not to say anything if I feel that strongly about it...

Hope somebody understands what I am waffling about and why it is playing on my mind :o

Edit - the woman who does the class is much more touchy-feely than me so I think she may understand what I am talking about...maybe....

I don;t like when people change the words - our baby sensory class have different words to pop goes the weezle and ring 0'roses and I just loudly sing the words I know/like best :D

I've been trying to catch up but haven;t got time, I need some help please ladies.

As you know, Lilia and I have thrush. She is 13 days old today and we have been taking the treatements (Daktarin gel for her, clotrimazole for me) for seven days now and I can;t see any real improvement.

We rub teh gel on the spots on the top of her mouth four times a day, and I put my cream on my nipples after every feed and sometimes at other times too, like if I manage to have a bath.

Does anyone know how long it takes to show improvement? the Gp said to use it for up to two weeks, but I thought I'd be seeing changes by now and am disheartened we are not.

Lilia is also strugglng to sleep which may be related or may not. Any tips on how to get her to go off when she is obviously exhausted but for some reason fights it?

I find she goes to sleep in our arms but then wakes when we put her down, but we cannot sleep sitting up!

We are both exhausted and I am becoming scared to try and lie down for a sleep as every time i do she wakes and needs me to feed her so I only get 10 mins at a time.

When does all this get better? I am beginning to lose it cos of being so sleep-deprived and am petrified of being left in the house alone with her in case she cries :(

WE had some cranial sacrotherapy today which I'm hoping will make a difference - apparently her diaphragm and neck were tight which might explain the diffiuclty pooing and the reluctance to lie on her back.

But she has still had a crying fit since, and is now refusing to go to sleep despite being sooo sleeeepy.

    What can we do?

Big hugs. I can't help with the thrush but would echo what others have said and go see your GP again. As for the sleeping - do whatever you can to get some sleep yourself. LO won't get bad habits at this young age and as others have said what you do now will probably change again every couple of weeks or so. I have a LO who fights sleep - still at 6 months! But we have got to the point where although its a bit of a fight sometimes, we now get a full nights sleep and two decent day time naps out of her - hang in there. It's exhausting and hard, the hardest thing I've ever ever done, but you sound like you are doing brilliantly :T (that's not meant to sound patronising!)
I'm keeping quiet cos you all take the piddle out of me

We use the word piddle as well. DH thinks I'm insane and doesn't understand when I say that it's not the done thing to talk about wees and poos, and that bum was a bad word when I was a child:rotfl:we referred to it as our behind or bottom if it needed further eplanation:o

JM - She was born in April, and she starts nursery Sep 1st :D She can't wait, we just ordered her peppa pig backpack today. Think I'm going to go get her haircut AGAIN before nursery, I'm not happy with her hairdew, I don't like the heavy fringe they have given her, makes her whole hair/head look like a turnip, I'm going somewhere else, and telling them to make it back into a side fringe. I get very OCD about things when I'm not happy.

I'll also have to go buy more trousers for her, hate doing that as 3/4 fits her in the leg but doesn't round the waist, and 2/3 fits her perfect round the waist but strangle her legs and tend to be half masts.

Whats his fave DS games? We just got her the pocoyo one, some of it she can't do but loves it all teh same, and mario kart.....likes driving them off the edge into the water, she will just LOL for ages. Nutter.

ha he loves the old school mario game, he's got one of them naughty cards in it so he's got loads of game on it! he's the same always getting stuck on something then mitherin me to do it!

    caz hope erins better soon,

im gona post some pics in a min x

I don't know :o I've been bathing it with salt water but with no improvement so asked HV about it, she asked what colour the gloop was and if the eye was red (greeny yellow and yes) so she said I needed to get GP to swab it...

what's an angels kiss?? is it a red mark betwen the eye brows? chris has one of those

Have you tried booby milk in his eye? Violet had had a sticky eye for a few days til HV said to try boobie milk, squirted directly into the eye after a feed - and it cleared up overnight!

And is a angels kiss the same as a stork bite? We've got one of those above her top lip.

(Going back to catch up now - I may be some time!!)

Where did you get the naughty R4 card from? I'm thinking about getting one as those DS games are a rip off, you see the Diego rescue one? £15! And there is ONE LEVEL and you just repeat X343498345 once you've done it.

    Stupid diego.
