....although hubby and DSS's mum agreed with me that it is not a word that a 9 year old should be using
Glad you had a good weekend.
Nope - It is a bad word in my family too. If I was to say around my mum (even now) I would risk having my mouth washed out with soap and a clip round the ear  It's an acceptable word in DH's family though even though his mum disapproves of swearing etc.Going back to the home made jaffa cakes some pages ago - Joshua was pestering to make them as he made some at school last year. He used a blob of orange marmalade for the orangy bit instead of jelly.
well I'll stop by yours on the way to visit Weezl - I love jaffa cakes. Does Joshua do a postal service????:rotfl:
Caz - glad job went well.
Hello chopsticks
MFD - I keep meaning to ask, where is Benjamin's elephant from? Annabel got one from tescos as a gift (it's pink, but I know they did a blue one too) I ahd to buy a second last week - the lady said they were being discontinure:eek::eek: and I got the last pink one for washing and/or emergencies - she's quite attached to hers when sleeping in her pram.r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
Morning all. I am back in the land of the internet now. New cupboards are up, just slowly filling them with stuff so we can get the old cupboards out if here. I'm needing eyes in the back of my head even more than normal as it really isn't very baby friendly in here just at the moment. I've moved all the tools off the floor (bloody men ) but there will still be cables everywhere until at least tomorrow.
Never mind, must crack on. How is the building work going Elle?Isabella Molly born 14th January 2009

Pink - I found that if baby has had a good day feeding then I don't get much that evening, but after a couple of days I get more and more as the supply ups.
Have you expressed before? If not then it can take a little while to get the hang off - things like changing the position of the funnel thingy and moving the boob and can make a difference
And I bet if you expressed in the morning you'd get a larger quantity than you do in the eveningsDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

I want oneLadies and Bruno... I have a very cheeky request to make...
As some of you might recall I have a friend (in fact my maid of honour!) who is currently stationed in Afghanistan as part of the British presence there. She's not part fo the fighting troops per say, but is there to try and improve the relations between the locals and the UK forces and her task has been building schools and hospitals and helping the women in particular...
They've built basic hospitals, they've built schools etc but the local women are struggling for a lot of things for obvious reasons...
So she's got about 6 weeks left of her tour and she's given up on the official channels including the big charities to get some help out there for things that are not classed as "vital" for the locals...
She's asked me to send every thing I can and to ask if anyone could help too...
This is what they need:
baby clothes - used is absolutely fine, ideally without angels on or anything that could be seen as "heathen" to them. The women are more open minded but obviously there are still some extreemists out thereAt least a lot of women realise that keeping their baby warm is more important than anything!
Adult clothes - simple things - if you HAVE any maternity clothes that you don't think are worth Ebaying then these would be perfect, ditto breast feeding tops etc.
If you think you could help please PM me... I will let you have her direct address out there and the best thing is that so long as your parcel under 2kg it's FREE to post it out there as it's front line troops BFOP so Royal mail carry it for free to the army who then ship it outAnd even better... so long as the parcels are under 2 kg you can send as many as you like!
Other things if you have them spare is nappies, terry cloths, wipes... well anything baby based!
If you feel like sending anything else then you're more than welcome but try to avoid anything that will melt (like chocolate sadly!) nothing like fizzy drinks and definitely no alcohol!
I'm going to post this on the charity boards too but I thought I'd ask you nice ladies and Bruno here first
It doesn't have to be new things, so long as it's not falling apart or really stained then it would be very welcome!
Thank you
Mrs T - I have some things I was wondering what to do with just last night. I'll PM you xr.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -

got a very busy week coming up - which should be fun as it involves lots of tea and cake (and is Becles and Joshua make more jaffa cakes possibly a trip to visit
). Missed out on a jumperoo on ebay last night - it went for megabucks considering it was 2nd hand. I used a sniper, but my best bid was woo short! oh well. Perhaps this means my items will sell well - I can hope.
LO sleeping much better. I'm putting her down for naps during the day and being more structred with her and I am sure that's what's made the difference - along with a break from teething.
feeling a bit sad. I love being a SAHM and wouldn't change my LO for the world. I love her so much, but it's had such a huge and negative effect on my relationship with DH. I know we need to do something about it, but not sure what. decided to take a big step and tell my mum how upset I am. I feel disloyal to DH doing it, but I have to talk to someone....r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
Just popped by to say, thanks for the compliments and birthday wishes for Elijah, and oh my god,, I am on my work laptop which was hibernating for the weekend, I hit refresh on this thread and since Friday evening we've had 34 new pages!
And I am responsible for very few of those posts so I think you lot must be posting rather a lot
Welcome back ladybird!
Poor little birthday boy woke up crying 6 times last night... not sure if it's the tooth that's just come through, the unusually rich food he stuffed himself with at the barbecue, or just being over-tired from his non-stop action all afternoon, so excited by being in the garden with all these people and new toys etc! I didn't mind too much though as I was well-rested and he settled again pretty quickly most times.0 -

No I haven't expressed before. I had the funnel on and off a few times - it was weird getting used to the sensation and seeing your nipple being sucked in! I did it at 11pm last night. It's a medela mini electric that I got off ebay. I did it last night whilst I was feeding her on the other boob. I was standing up though so it was a bit tricky!Sealed Pot Challenge #817 £50 banked0 -
