Oh dear, not nice to be accused of something you haven't done. Is it a friend colleague or just a colleague IYSWIM? If it's a friend I would just put a polite reply stating that you weren't there and it wasn't you. If it's just a colleague I would just put a blunt reply. Thats just what I would do tho coz I really hate being accused of things!!

Well, I thought she was a friend, not a close one, but not "just" a colleague iyswim. I've replied, rather bluntly, I have to admit. I very much doubt she'll expect me to be online at this time of night (she doesn't know me like you lot do!) so she'll be surprised by the instant reply.. *sigh* Honestly, she's in her 40s, not a school kid!

ETA: Definite guilty conscience.. no doubt about it! ;)

elle, I kinda know how you feel just not to the same extent. We know Dylan did not have enough oxygen the night he was born and for 3 days afterwards had to be on the CPAP at between 80 - 100% at all times. This will have inevitably affected him in some way, but we just have to wait and see if its anything serious, or he may be completely fine. Its the not knowing, not the possible outcomes that scare me.
You know you can pm me to talk any time :)

    Thankyou both :o

It's the brain stuff I'm worried about. I know the renal stuff is getting back down to much nearer normal than it was, so hopefully that can just be controlled by medication in the future and no need for dyalsis (sp?) or transplant. It's just the brain stuff.. I can't help my mind wandering as to what might be affected - for every new thing he does it's like thinking "okay, so it's not that then.. so what it is?" :o

I know it's hard. There is nothing worse than just not knowing and nobody being able to tell you. All you hear is 'wait and see' and the random 'we will know better/more when he is say 3'. But really all you can do is just wait and see.

You are doing great with his physio, all the things he is doing is very encouraging.

Just try and relax a little and enjoy your baby, it's far too easy to always see the 'disability' first. I had to get myself out of the habit of looking at Chris and thinking 'that thumb is turned in, must grab it' or 'his ankle is up' and start thinking 'lets have some fun that doesn't involve physio for a change!'.

It's hard Elle, but worth it.

Thankyou both xx Day to day, I don't think about the brain stuff too deeply; I think it was just seeing the stats that make it looks like the odds are stacked against him

I'm off to fight for a cuddle with Rhys.. OH has kidnapped him to the den!

Elle: honey the odds have been stacked against him from the start but every time he's stick his middle finger up at the stats and come through it - that boy is one heck of a stubborn fighter who ain't gonna let anything stop him doing the same things other kids do  it might take him a little bit longer sometimes but he'll get there I just know it :D

Stupid thing is, it involves two workplaces. Sister of the bloke we're apparently gossiping about works where me and another now-colleague used to work and where our friend still does. Apparently I spotted them in the street (which I didn't), told our friend, who told the sister, who told the bloke, who told the one who's emailing me... Anyone keeping up?!

What did I do to be blessed with such a stubborn so-and-so?:o

ETA: Sorry, will stop thread hogging now! Someone must have something more interesting to talk about... :p
