Mel, I went to PGL (activity week thing) in my first week of Y6 so I was 10, almost 15 years old. I don't think I would have wanted to go any earlier than that but then kids seem to grow up a lot faster these days.. (do I sound old now?!)

I went to a day-camp thing (there all day, older kids stayed the nights too) at 6 I think, was fine but nights would've been too much by far. I started going on adventure-camp style weeks away (sailing) from age 10.
  • elle, I had to buy a new pair of trousers, my jeans all fit and so do my PJs :D so no need to worry most of the time :rotfl:
I could get the trousers on, but I had 2 tummies :eek:

You will look beautiful, and if they are more experianced mummies and you go out with baby sick on you, they will know how you feel :D

    :rotfl: muffin-tops r us :D

I used to pity the women who you saw in the supermarket looking dowdy and covered in baby sick etc but since having Benjamin I have managed to go out on several occasions without any make-up and not having brushed my hair
Good luck Elle - I need to do a similar cat-walk for baby session and try and find something that fits for my interview on Friday. Am going to a wedding in the afternoon too, so I may even manage to find an outfit that will be suitable for both if I'm really lucky (mind you it will get covered in baby food at lunchtime, so that bit probably doesn't matter too much!)

I'm torn between wanting to loose a bit more weight, and wanting to work out what sorts of things will fit/suit my new shape. I don't want to spend money on more clothes if they aren't going to fit for long, but I'm fed up of feeling fat and unattractive, when the real problem is that none of my clothes fit/suit me and I've not washed my hair for a week ;)

A week  I don't think there has been more than 2 or 3 days since I was 16 that I haven't washed my hair!! I even washed it after having Benjamin when I couldn't even stand because my epidural hadn't properly worn off!! I took a plastic stool and hubby into the shower with me...

....only now am I wondering where Benjamin was at that time? We must have just left him in the delivery suite...it was ensuite but still - I clearly wasn't that bothered about leaving him to it even then :rotfl:

Mel - DSS is 9 and would probably be allowed to go with school or cubs but not just to a random place where he didn't know the adults...even then, I doubt he would want to be away for more than a few days.

I remember going for a shower about an hour after the birth. I had to leave DS in the room, which I didn't like because I though someone would come through the window and steal him.

As I was walking down the corridor I heard a baby crying. I got upset because I didn't know if it was my baby. I felt so guilty that I didn't know his cry.

I appear to be a size 9.. 8s are too tight, 10s are too loose! Gonna be 10s and a belt for a while. Don't really want to be an 8 - will have to do more slobbing and biscuit eating, methinks! :o

Really need to eBay a lot of things to raise funds for a new wardrobe as well as make more room in the house.

I remember feeling so guilty when Rhys was crying, really belting it out, in the unit and I didn't recognise it as Rhys. In fairness Feelie, neither of us had probably heard our babies cry much up to that point :)

sorry for rubbisg typing but doin it one handed must be an art!
I find that one-handed typing is faster if I use my left hand: actually I think the most commonly used letters are on the left, it's a throwback to the days when the QWERTYUIOP keyboard was designed to slow typists down so there was time for the levers with the letters on to get back into place without getting tangled up with each other.

Mind you this one-handed typing lark probably only works well with my left hand because I am a touch typist.

Oh, and DS2 has reconfigured his keyboard to a faster layout. I can't use it at all! :rotfl:

On that line... how much can an infant earn before Mr Brown wants a share of their earnings? If it's a couple of grand then we'd be ok - there is no chance she'd do that much (I'm hoping for 2 or 3 shoots maybe if we're lucky...)
Same as any adult: I think the personal allowance is just over £6000 now isn't it?

Forgive me if these have already been answered but I'm playing catchup - 10 pages while I've been at work, don't you lot have children to look after?

I wash my hair once a week as standard. It doesn't get that dirty/greasy to need it more often.

    eek

My hair is stuck to my head when I get up in a morning! I don't use any products to speak of but I have lots of very fine hair... It would take a lot for me not to wash it every morning.
