Awww MFD, sorry you are having a tough day, poor little baby! Perhaps tell us what you've tried and we'll see if we can come up with any other ideas?

Awww MFD that's awful! :( keep trying new and different things... being at different angles can impact teething pain (i.e. hang him upside down if it makes him happy!), try frozen things, consider a different brand or type of pharmacy help... and a lot of cuddles :|

It's a welcome (to me) side effect. The nurses on the NeoNatal unit suggested I ask my GP for it - some will, some won't prescribe it as that's not what it's for. Because of Rhys' kidney problems, breast milk is the best thing for him so it's important (to him, me, and us) that I keep my milk supply up which I couldn't/can't do on my own cos we were low on skin-to-skin and high on stress in the early weeks so my GP agreed. If they don't, you can buy it over the counter but it's about £4.50 for 10 tablets so it mounts up.

My GP wouldn't prescribe it, but I bought it online. It didn't work for me though.

My poor baby boy is really struggling with his teeth today :( we have had tons of tears and he is not usually a big cryer.

I have tried everything in my arsenal to calm him and nothing has worked for longer than 5 minutes.

Worst of all, he won't feed from me at all - just screams and squeals every time I bring him close  I had to give in and give him a bottle of EBM in the end (complete with streaming tears)

    Awwww, poor thing;(
Don't know if this makes you feel any better but i've had a similar day here. We went and got the anbesol and have been using that, but he keeps crying out while trying to take his milk, and is ramming everything in his mouth but then crying:(

I have just managed to get him to nap in his cot, doubt he'll stay asleep long, but he has barely managed 30mins all day and he's been up since 5am

Thanks Feely - a combination of calpol kicking in and daddy coming home (because he knew I was upset and having a tough day - bless) has quietened him for the moment.

Throughout the day I have tried Calpol, CalGel, Bonjela, Ashtons Powders, Gripe Water (just in case), Bickiepegs, various teethers (cold and room temp) my fingers and a cold carrot - all to no avail!

Hubby brought some Anbesol back so when the grumping starts again I will go in with that.

I am hoping that he will take a feed off me later.

(((Hugs))) MFD, Sounds as if I have the baby girl version of what your describing! Not much is working here either well for long periods anyway! Do you have a teething blanket? You can get them from boots, if not a muslin works just as well! Babe just finds it a bit easier to chew on than teethers and fingers and fists!

Caz how are you doing? :)
