Knocking out the bay window and base then rebuilding it. It was a DIY job by the previous owners - the base was unstable and not insulated, the window was practically just resting on the bricks, and the window wasn't sealed properly. As an aside, it was a curved bay and we're replacing it was a square one too - cheaper and easier for curtain rails!0 -
And sterilising/cleanliness - Violet has just had dinner. When she'd finished, I went off to search for the baby wipes - and came back to a giggling baby with lovely clean face - the dog had cleaned it for us!
I've got a baby washer just like that
Baby modelling - I considered it, but then we mystery shopped Venture photography and it was awful. The whole shoot was rushed as the previous people were extremely late and the next ones had turned up early and were complaining, so our shoot got cut shortCharlotte wouldn't do anything the photographer wanted as it was so rushed, and most of the pictures were pants. I wouldn't like to put her through anything like that again.
Lube - Durex play is often on BOGOF and you can get a cold version and a hot version. It makes things a bit more interestingHere I go again on my own....0 -
I've had something strange happen with my TT CTN Bottles - has anyone else, or am I doing something wrong?
They've not been used much - only the odd expressed bottle, but i've just noticed a couple of them looked a bit cracked, and one when you press the cracky bit, it all brittle. I poked my finger right through!
When they've been used, i've rinsed them out, put them in the dishwasher, then the microwave steriliser. (Are you not meant to dishwash them?)

Medised is not to be given to children under the age of 6 now
Went to buy some a couple of months ago, pharmasist asked me how old DS is and said he cant sell it to me!
I've been giving it to him since he was well young (last box I had said from age 2 on it)0 -

What part? The wanting to share my beautiful baby with the world? The wanting to put anything she might earn into a savings account for her future? Sorry but I don't see what is distasteful? I'm not planning on forcing her into doing anything and she actually loves being out and about and meeting people. If she turned out not to enjoy it then regardless of whether or not she was offered more work then do you really think I'd try it again???
It's not like I'm sending her off to the work house or the mines!DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

I know where you are coming from Feely.
People have said to us that Benjamin is gorgeous and we should get him signed up - our neighbour actually calls him 'Model Baby' but TBH I can't think of anything worse.
How stressful would it be to have a ton of people standing around trying to get your child to 'perform' and getting pee'd off that they are wasting their time if all your baby wants to do is feed / sleep / cry / play / look at something else.
Although if he was having a day like he is having today I would happily dump him and leave him for an hour or two
Bl00dy teeth!!please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
I thought that Modelling angencies weren't allowed to charge now, didn't a new legislation come in to stop the ones that are a con?
Hi Sami,
They can't charge a "you're now a model" fee per se, but they can and do charge a fee to e.g. take 'professional' photos and then put them in their portfolios for clients to browse. Feels a bit like a con to me but I spent quite a while reading and it's apparently still accepted practice.0 -

And yes, that was really exactly it for OH, once she was there and realised how it's really an "industry" and the baby is a "commodity" and - etc. Just not fair at all on the baby, and no fun for you either. However, different strokes - some people really get into it and I don't expect babies take any lasting harm from it at this sort of age!0 -

I don't think modelling is ANYTHING like the ripoff merchants that are venture in all fairness... Venture is about getting YOU to cough up money and not about actually producing a good end product - they usually make their money by the hard sell and guilting people... I loathe these people can you tell?DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!
